Sadé's POV:
— November 2nd, 2022, Chicago
It was now the next day, and extremely early in the morning - around 3 in the a.m. I was so tired, and feeling so low. I was just confused and thrown by a loop. I just wanted my man here by side. I wanted Marshall to just hold me. I tried not to fall asleep until he showed up though.
Jordyn was here by my side the entire time. She was comforting me, making sure I was okay. She even helped me to stop crying and calm myself down. She's like a big sister to me, and has always been there for me whenever I needed her since the day I met her. I don't just look at her as a manager or business partner: She's family.
So she was sat next to while the police officers inspected some things in the apartment to file the police report. They asked me a couple of questions here and there. From what I gathered, what was supposed to only be a police report had become an entire investigation due to my celebrity status, and the fact that some evidence was found. They wouldn't tell me what, but now they want me to come into the police station for further questioning within the next few days.
I was lost in my own world, thinking and struggling to stay awake when Jo nudged me in my arm with her elbow. I looked at her confused before she pointed upwards. My eyes followed, and I saw Marshall standing only a few feet away from me. I got up from my spot, stumbling over my own two feet, before running over to him. I tackled him in a bear hug as I wrapped my arms around him. He immediately reciprocated the hug, rubbing his hands up & down my back in a soothing manner.
"I'm so glad you're here..." I told him honestly, feeling myself become emotional.
"Shhh. It's alright. I got you. I promise." He whispered into my hair.
He pulled away, studying my face momentarily. He frowned, a sad expression forming on his face.
"What did the police say? Did they find out who did this?" He asked me concerned.
"No. They said it's going to be launched into a criminal investigation. Supposedly they found some evidence or something. I don't know." I replied hopelessly.
"Okay. Stay right here. I'm going to go see what's up." He told me before talking to an officer that led him into the apartment.
I went back to Jordyn, sitting down on the hallway floor. We just looked at each other before talking.
"So now what? Because I don't know." I asked her for advice.
"Now we wait and see what happens. I already booked you a hotel for the next few days that's big enough for both you and Marshall. I'll book his security some hotels too. I know you don't feel comfortable here anymore." She gave me sad smile.
"No I don't..." I looked away feeling ashamed.
"It's okay, girl. Things happen. It's not your fault. Nobody saw this coming. You can always stay with me until you figure things out if you want to. You know that." She offered genuinely.
"Thank you, Jordyn. You're the best friend, sister, and manager I could ever ask for. I love you, bestie." I hugged her warmly.
"I love you too, bestie." She replied softly, causing us both to giggle lightly.
We continued to talk, waiting for Marshall to come back out. It felt like he was in there for forever.
