Chase POV

I pulled into Sam's driveway and saw him dash outside his door. He opened the passenger door and hoped in the car.

"You excited to see Aurora today?" He said with a wink.

"Shut up" I said as I glared at him and punched his shoulder.

"Ow," he mumbled in a mocking tone. As we pulled into the parking lot, I saw Aurora and Elaine walking into school. They're both in Sam and I's homeroom. Sam could've driven us in his old school Troy Bolton truck that he likes to call the "Bolton Mobile." But I refused to be seen in public with that rusty old pick-up truck. Our homeroom is arranged with the desks put in groups of four because she tends to do a lot of group projects with her classes. Sam and I sit next to each other with Elaine and Aurora across from us. We tend to only talk to each other during homeroom. Aurora, Sam and I have every class together and 2 classes with Elaine. Our first class is honors mythology which Elaine and Aurora are both in with Sam and me.

Now don't get me wrong, mythology class is not that bad, but it's not my favorite. Elaine and Aurora could answer every question in that class before even taking it. They both get 100s on their tests and always raise their hands to answer. Sam is just as confident. I'm not too mythology savvy so my test scores seem to range between 70 and 95. Not once have I ever gotten a 100 in Mrs. Steinfields class. I took my seat next to Sam only to find the girls dying of laughter in front of us.

"What's up with them?" I ask Sam. "I don't know, I'm pretty used to their laughing by now." He replies. As the girls calm down and stop laughing Sam slams his hands down on his desk in an exaggerated way.

"Aye, aye, let's calm down here." Sam says in a joking tone directed at the girls.

"We're fine, we're fine," Elaine says trying not to die of laughter all over again.

"So, what were you guys laughing about?" I ask.

"Nothing," they both say simultaneously in a suspicious voice. They immediately burst out into an explosion of laughter. Sam and I groan and begin talking about the baseball tournament this weekend. Until, our homeroom and Global Studies teacher, Ms. Clark tells us all to take our seats.
