Third Person POV
"What is happening?" Elaine asks once they stop running.
"Ever since our so called "dad" showed up, we've almost been killed like a million times!" Aurora says in response.
"Ugh, I wish we had never met this guy," Elaine says in response while rolling her eyes.
"We should get back to the hotel, Ms. Clark will be worried," Sam says.
"I don't really know if making sure Ms. Clark knows where we are is a top priority right now," Elaine says to Sam.
"Yeah, I guess you're right," Sam says back.
"We need to find some type of weapon store and figure out what we can all do to make sure we live," Drake says.
"Where are we going to find a place that will allow 4 kids under 18 buy a weapon?" Elaine asks.
"Good point, we may need another idea," Drake says.
"Aurora, you still have your credit card knife right?" Sam asks.
"Yeah, I think someone here has it," Aurora says while looking at Elaine and Drake.
"Okay, we shouldn't go back to the hotel. That would make it too easy to be found," Sam says.
"Okay, well I want coffee," Aurora states.
"Aurora, it's almost 4 in the morning, where are we going to get coffee from?" Sam questions.
"Look! That coffee place has a 24 hour sign in the window," Aurora says cheerfully while starting over to the coffee shop.
"Uh, Aurora, that's incredibly suspicious after what just happened," Drake tries to tell her. Aurora ignores him and continues towards the coffee place with Elaine right behind her. Sam and Drake follow slowly behind. Sam looks at Drake and shakes his head at Aurora and Elaine.
Aurora approaches the door and pulls it open. Elaine follows her inside but Drake and Sam haven't caught up to them yet. They walk in and are greeted with a musty smelling aroma. Aurora breathes in and begins coughing.
"Aurora, are you okay?" Elaine asks, concerned.
"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine," Aurora says in-between coughs.
Drake and Sam finally arrive at the coffee shop and Sam becomes suspicious the second the musty smell hits his nose. He cautiously looks around at the dust covered tables and rusting chairs.
"Guys, I don't know about this place..." Sam says while continuing to look around.
"Yeah but but coffee," Aurora argues.
"Does anyone even work here?" Drake asks.
"I think so. We probably just have to ring a bell or something," Aurora says while approaching the counter and searching for a small metal bell. Aurora hits the bell and a man comes around to the counter.
"Hello!" He says cheerily, "what can I get you?" The guy looks to be about 16 or 17. He has a deep voice and short blonde hair.
"Hi! Can I please have two pumpkin spice lattes and two hot chocolates?" Aurora asks politely.
"Sure thing, sweetie," he says to Aurora with a wink, "I'll have that ready in a minute."
"C'mon guys, let's go sit down," Aurora says to Sam, Elaine and Drake. They go and sit down at one of the many open tables to wait for their coffees and hot chocolates.
"Aurora?" Elaine asks.
"Yeah?" Aurora replies innocently.
"How oblivious are you?" Elaine questions.
"What do you mean?" Aurora says, puzzled.
"That guy was totally hitting on you."
"He was?"
"Uh yeah."
Oh, I didn't notice."
"Drake did," Sam adds, pointing at drake who appears to be death glaring the guy at the counter. Sam immediately stops talking as the guy begins walking over with our coffees.
"Thanks," Aurora says as he places her coffee in front of her.
"Anytime sweetheart," he says while placing everyone else's coffees down on the table.
"The names Matt, what's yours?" The guys asks Aurora.
"Aurora," She says replies kindly.
"Nice name, you got a number to go with it?"
"I sure do."
"Ah really? What is it?"
"Yes, really. I'm not a liar," Aurora replies jokingly.
"Then prove it," He says back with a grin.
"866-740-4531," Aurora replies without hesitation.
"I'll be sure to call it," Matt says while walking away. Matt turns back and winks at Aurora before resuming his walk to behind the counter.
"Aurora! What did you just do?" Elaine yell whispers at Aurora.
"I'll explain after we drink some coffee," Aurora responds. She picks her cardboard cup off the table and brings it to her lips. As steam rises out of the cup, the faint smell of almonds enters her nose. She breathes in deeply and the smell grows stronger.
"Guys!" Aurora basically yells.
"What, what is it?" They all respond.
"Don't drink it," Aurora frantically says.
"Why not? Its hot chocolate," Sam explains in a "duh" kind of way.
"Yeah but it's been poisoned," Aurora whispers.
"What are you tal-"Elaine is tries to ask but is cut off by a familiar voice.
"So, you didn't fall for it," The voice says, "The rest of your drinks are fine, I can assure you of that."
Elaine goes to turn around but her eyes flutter for a bit before closing shut. Aurora, Sam and Drake try yelling at the unknown voice but slowly, everything become black to them as well. Aurora's coffee splashes to the ground as her head hit edge of the table.
