Slips and Stereotypes

Elaine POV

Aurora and I were just laughing, what was the big deal? Out of nowhere, we each get handed a pink slip. We look at each other in shock. We're both straight "A" students and have never gotten detention before.

"What's this all about?" I ask Aurora.

"I don't know. But, it looks like Logan and Byron got one too." She responds, gesturing towards the direction of Byron and Logan.

"At least we'll know some people there." I say with a shrug. Friday's detention would be filled with all of the people at school who have gotten in trouble at least 3 times that week or today (Friday). That means all the skaters and the people referred to as the goths. It's a horrible stereotype, I know. But, at our school, that's what they liked to call themselves. They seemed to be dangerous. Dressed in all black, colored strips in their dark black hair, tall combat boots, studded leather jackets. On the other hand, Aurora could be pretty intimidating with her black ripped jeans and combat boots but that girl was short and she was a twig. The goths could probably break her in half. Or throw her over the side of a bridge. But when she wanted, she could be the meanest, scariest person that I have ever met. I can also be intimidating, more intimating than Aurora because I was strong and I looked strong, I didn't look like a twig. Don't get me wrong, I wasn't fat either just a good strong.
