Third person POV (7:15, morning)
Sam woke up with a huge grin on his face. Chase looked over at him from his twin size bed.
"What's up with you?" Chase asked Sam while groggily rubbing his eyes.
"Last night was perfect," Sam says while stretching his arms above his head.
"Same," Chase whispers under his breath.
"What was that? Did you say same like you and Aurora same or you found some other girl kind of same?" Sam questions Chase.
"The first one..." he says in reply
"Why am I just hearing about this now!?" Sam almost screams back at Chase.
"When else was I going to tell you, we haven't talked since dinner last night," Chase says in defense.
"Well, still. I told you about me and Elaine right when I woke up," Sam says with a confident attitude.
"I knew you would make a big deal and look, you are!" Chase says.
"Am I not supposed to be happy for my best friend after he gets the girl he's been crushing on for like ever??" Sam says with wide eyes.
Chase throws a pillow at Sam, "Just get ready to go."
Third Person POV (7:15, morning, girl's room)
Aurora and Elaine have already been up for an hour, sitting on Elaine's bed, drinking hot coffee and talking about the events that occurred last night. Everything is going fine until Elaine asks that one fatal question, "What about Drake?" Drake had been Aurora's best friend when she was 8, first kiss when she was 12, her first official date at 13, her first dance at 14, her boyfriend till 15 and now partially at 16. Before he had moved away that is. His dad is in the military so his family has to move a lot. 7 and a half years is a long time to stay in one place for his family but he managed to convince his parents, every year, to stay. Just so he could be with her. Aurora twirled the ring that he gave her before he left around her finger. She looked down at the ring then back up at Elaine.
"He moved, remember?" Aurora quietly says to Elaine.
"Yesh but that doesn't mean you don't still love him," Elaine replies in an equally quiet voice.
Aurora takes a sip of her coffee before replying, "I'm beginning to unlove him."
"What if he comes back?" Elaine asks.
"I don't know what I'll do," Aurora says while looking down at the ring. It was an American flag. Silver with black stars and stripes. Drake got it for Aurora because of their song. The one that was playing at his house when they were there playing on his Xbox. She got killed on the game multiple times and he looked over at her and said "You might suck at this game, but I love you anyways." The first time they said "I love you" to each other, American Physco/American Beauty by Fall out Boy was playing. Now he calls her that, his American beauty.
"We should start getting ready to go, we have to meet the guys in the lobby in 30 minutes," Elaine says, shattering Aurora's thoughts.
Elaine goes to her suitcase and pulls out a plain black tank top with blue and white patterned shorts. She goes into the bathroom, throws her hair in a ponytail then walks out. Aurora wears a pair of jeans shorts with fraying ends and black tank top with the batman symbol on it. She walks into the bathroom and puts a small braid on one side of her hair then walks out, takes her phone and money of the counter and meets Elaine by their room door.
"Ready?" Aurora asks Elaine cheerfully.
"Yeah, let's go!" Elaine excitedly says back.
They meet Chase and Sam by the lobby doors and go outside to get on the bus. Once they're all seated on the bus, Sam receives a text from Ms. Clark.
It says: All students, our class has been invited to attend a Greek ball, semi-formal dresses and tuxes are required. If your group would like to go please send a text back. The ball will start at 6 and end at 9. Food and drinks will be served there.
Sam tells them about the text, then asks, "Should we go?"
Aurora and Elaine nod while Elaine says, Why not? It will be so much fun, the only problem is finding dresses."
They go into a lot of stores before both Elaine and Aurora have found dresses. Aurora finds a light blue dress that she pairs with black shoes and accessories (http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=168730386). While Elaine chose a white dress with gold shoes and accessories (http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=168731183).
Chase and Sam decided to buy tuxes at the same store where the girls got their dresses. Sam has a white tuxedo with a black tie and Chase has a black tuxedo with a white tie.
Third person POV (at the ball)
Chase, Aurora, Elaine and Sam all arrive at 6:04. They walk into a huge ballroom with a chandelier in the ceiling, a huge dance floor and a buffet on the other side of the room.
First they decide to get food then go out of the dance floor to join in on one of those fancy dances where everyone switched partners and such. Elaine starts out with Sam and Aurora is with Chase. Halfway through the song, everyone has to switch partners. Elaine ends up with Chase but Sam and Aurora end up with people they don't know. Sam's dancing partner has on a floral dress. Aurora's partner is wearing a mask so she cannot see who it is.
Once the dance is over, the masked man leads Aurora away from the crowd.
"Do I know you?" She asks, curiously.
"Yes," He answers before leaning in and kissing her and she lets him. Aurora pulls her head away from him, looks up at him and slowly lets the word fall out of her mouth, "Drake?"
