First😻
The stuff I write here will make zero sense if you're reading this once the story is finished but whatever ily fellow reader🫶
I was writing this chapter, then I fell asleep at 9pm and woke up at almost 1am. My meds make me a little crazy and tired at weird times and I fell asleep listening to a podcast about children who murder. (I hated kids to begin with now they're just creepy)
anyways new chapter and I think you'll like it a lot🤭🤭

Querencia
A place where you feel strong, safe, and at home. It could also be your "happy place," which often has more to do with a person or people than a specific locale. The presence behind me was getting closer. Not only did their horse's grunts give it away, but it felt like someone was staring at me. Everyone else had ran past me, only giving me a weird look or a scoff. This person though, was trying to get to me.
If I turned around now, it would be obvious that I was aware of it. Maybe that would ruin the tiny chance I had? I don't even know who it is, or what they're capable of.
Johnny, Gyro, and Hot Pants were way ahead of me by now, and I had no clue who it was behind me. A few stages back, there was a lot of talking about Mountain Tim working with the sheriff, but I had just assumed that was forgotten by now. I have a feeling he wouldn't bother with me either, since I had never seen his face.
My thoughts scattered as an image of Diego flashed by. I visibly shook my head, trying to forget about my previous pet. There's no way he would be following me, right? I scoffed at the thought, it was so dumb. Though, it seemed like I would be finding out rather soon as the horse came up behind mine.
The grunts were still heard, and another person's breathing was noticeable. The fact that we were approaching the colder regions weren't making me calm down either, because that meant I'd have to stop soon and put on warmer clothing.
Without hesitating for another moment, I swung the upper half of my body to the side, hoping I'd catch the person off guard. Unfortunately, I was only met by the brightly smiling Diego Brando.
"Hey there, Sweetheart. I feel like we left off at a bad spot last time, what do you say we try again?" He smirked at me as he caught up to Athena's pace.
"Ugh, I thought you died or something." While I was relieved to know it wasn't an enemy, I wasn't necessarily happy about who it was either.
"You're gonna break my heart into tiny pieces if you keep this going, you know."
"Good, perhaps it'll be the death of you." Well, one could always dream.
"We didn't finish what we started, so how about we do?" He leaned in towards me, and I let Athena trot away from him. "Hey, wait up!" He ran after me, making sure not to lose any speed. "Come on, I'm trying to flirt here."
"I thought you said you didn't find women attractive?" I smirked at him, meeting his eyes. I couldn't bare to hold eye contact for long, though, since it gave me war flashbacks of what happened at the medical building.
"Well, it's still fun to flirt with them." He scoffed, sounding bored.
"If you actually want to flirt with women, you should focus less on the physical things."
"What do you mean?"
"I mean..." I looked at the lost puppy who seemed genuinely curious on what I was talking about. Okay, he seemed to think I wasn't making sense, but he also seemed willing to learn. "It's about the little things, Diego. Kisses, hugs, any type of intimacy can be good, but you should also feed the woman's intellect."
