Narrator

You stayed overnight after hearing the backstory of Poppy Playtime Co. The toys were surprisingly good to you.. well to be exact.. Huggy was being awkward, Cat Bee was alright and calm, Poppy wasn't to be seen, Daisy just shrugged when she saw you, Kissy Missy wasn't to be found either nor with the rest of the toys.

You slept.. not that great. You had pillows from what Cat Bee gave you, which was apparently from Poppy's area of the factory and a blanket, which belonged to a child long ago that forgot it. You slept mainly on a maroon-red sofa, which had a abstract shape to it. The sofa was near the entrance.

You heard chatter coming from a certain area.. it was a feminine voice. You searched all around for where it could be coming from until you stood on the sofa and put your ear to a small vent.

"Why is she here? She's going to be like all the other children! It'll be fun when she'll see me as the closet thing she has ever had.."

The voice stopped, but there was quiet movement getting further and further away. Suddenly, a voice came from behind you.

"Hello!"

You turned around to notice Candy Cat on the floor, looking up at you.

"Oh hello.." you replied awkwardly.

"I had to send a message to you.. Candy Cat and the others have agreed for you to explore the factory as freely as you want. Poppy's area is off limits for now."

"Yeah.. I don't think she likes me very much," you sighed, as you kneeled in front of Candy Cat after getting down from the sofa.

"Well I heard that some toys don't like you.. I am not permitted to say the names, but it might be obvious."

"Yeah.. it is. By the way.. you do know I'm Rowan's daughter, right?"

"What?!" Candy Cat screeched. "I didn't know.. maybe that's why some toys aren't fond of you- but- she was really nice!"

"Did Huggy not tell you?"

"Uh.. not really. He's acting more weird lately. By the way.. you should remember to be careful around him," Candy Cat warned.

"Why?"

"Go ask him.. but make sure he's in the right mood."

...

Reader's POV

After Candy Cat's strange warning, I walked around the factory searching for Huggy. I saw him trying to.. I'm not really sure actually. He was gripping on his fur while pulling on it? Almost as if I was watching him take of a costume.

"Huggy? What's.. what are you doing?"

Huggy quickly turned around. I gasped as he growled in a weird manner with claws.. and sharp teeth? What?!

As soon as he saw me, he switched back to normal with that poker face. Ugh.

"Oh- hello Y/N," he said neutrally. The atmosphere felt odd. It's like he wasn't meant to show me that.. I feel like he didn't tell me something yesterday.

"Uhm.. what was that?"

"Oh uh- a protection software thing or whatever anyway- how are you?" Huggy asked sweetly.

"Hugs.. uhm- I meant like.. never mind! Uh.." I ran out of words. I had none. I had no idea what to say now.

"Was you looking for me?" Huggy asked with paws behind his back.

"Oh uh yeah! I was talking to Candy Cat earlier and she noticed you've been acting strange lately-"

"Well of course I have! I didn't expect you to come!-"

"For years," I replied. I really wanted to know what was wrong with him.

"Oh. Well I don't know! Maybe ask Poppy-"

"She hates me!"

"Y/N.. I'm not permitted to say!"

"But it's in your control! This is about you and what's wrong with you!"

"Hmm.. it's good to make friends! Try to be friends with Poppy, she's really nice!"

I sighed. Huggy obviously didn't want me to know and he knows damn well that Poppy won't speak to me.

Huggy's POV

I saw Y/N sigh before leaving with her shoulders slumped and with poor posture.

I didn't know what to say.. I acted like a idiot! But I couldn't tell her about what happened here besides what they did.

They were the start of all of our problems, we don't deserve to say what we did in order to survive because they caused it!

I kicked the machine in the Toy Making Room in anger and fury. I hated lying. I didn't want to lie! I used to say it's not lying if it's not telling, but it's the principle of keeping secrets away from others and the secrets they should know about.

I sat down on the ground, while frowning until I heard a feminine voice appear.

"You know.. you should've told her."

"I didn't want to.. she- she'll never see me the same again!" I replied in stress.

"That's not the point. The point is keeping secrets and secrets she's meant to know about."

I wanted to retort back in reply and refuse, knowing she was right. I just sat there.

"Huggy.. my poor child! We are all monsters, which make us a team. In an advantage, we have what? About.. 16 or.. 4 or something more including the rejected toys," she replied as she swung her way towards me and stood before me. "We are a family.. we may not act like it, but we are. You have to respect that."

"You're right.."

"I know! Mommy's always right!"

"Do you have a plan?"

"A plan? Of course! Who do you take me for?"

"Mom.. I don't want you to hurt her."

Mommy gasped in reply, "Why not?! Why is she so special to you! Do you not trust me?"

"She's special! I can't say why.. I'm sorry."

"Huggy.. you have this one chance to talk to me or you're on your own."

"Please.. I- I'll explain it to you, but let's think of a plan that dosen't include harm!"
