NarratorThe next day at Nanny Delaney's House, you was still watching the cameras. The police were mostly gone, but it was obvious they was still spectating the area.
You was texting Yolanda and Tasha to say you got a cold from the coldness or something from last night.
"How long are you going to keep skipping work?" Nanny Delaney asked.
"Don't know. The factory is a real distraction."
"It really feels like you're the toys' parent," she chuckled and made you some of her British tea.
"Geez! Nan, look at this!" you pointed at the news. There was a escaped murderer on the loose along with his 6 victims deceased. The man's name was James Hutton.
"Oh my! They better catch him. The police are so useless these days," Nanny Delaney stated.
"It's not like they was ever good."
While sipping your tea, you started to think about Tasha. Her uncle used to work at the factory.. Oscar! Maybe you could ask him about the factory. The only problem was not knowing his phone number.
You had to think of a excuse before texting Tasha. Well.. she has a older brother and you have his phone number.
You started looking on your contacts until you saw the name 'Hayden'.
You clicked 'call' and waited until he answered.
"Hello?" a male voice said. Yes!
"Hi! It's me!"
"Oh hi Y/N! What's up?" he asked.
"I kinda need a favour.. is that okay?" you asked.
"Depends, but sure."
"Do you have Oscar's number? Your uncle?"
"This sounds weird. What do you need it for?"
"It's hard to explain, but it's something to do with the place he used to work. Also please don't tell Tash this!" you pled.
"Alright, fine. You owe me!" he stated as you heard your phone go off and saw a phone number sent.
"Thank you do much! I'll pay you back also don't-"
"Tell Tasha? I know. Don't worry!" he replied before you both declined the call.
Reader's POV
I copy and pasted the phone number before adding it to my contacts. I planned on calling it later since it seemed to early right now.
I suddenly got another call from Mrs and Mr.. Ezekiel? Troy's parent?! What do they want?
I accepted the call, "Hello? What's wrong?"
"Hi Y/N!" Troy's mum. "Okay.. hear me out. I know you had a fight with Troy yesterday and- he just wanted to say how sorry he is. He's just stressed since he's not with you as much and he dosen't feel like he's dating you or 'married' to you."
"Uh- uhm.. yeah! Sorry I didn't expect you to call. Tell him I forgive him! I got to go, bye!" I quickly hung up the phone in panic.
"What's wrong?" Nan asked.
"Troy's mum. I really don't have the time to be worrying about my relationship with Troy right now!"
"You sound like your mother," she chuckled. "Troy dosen't want things to end between you and him. Just ask him to give you some space for a while."
...
Later on, I finally called Oscar. I hesitated before doing it, but whatever. I needed to know the truth of the factory and it's not like the toys would tell me anything.
"Hello? Who's this?" Oscar asked from the other side of the phone.
"Hey! It's me. Tasha's friend and Rowan's daughter. Y/N," I replied.
"Oh Y/N! Of course! How did you get my number?"
"Hayden."
"Of course. Did you need something?" he asked.
"Kinda.. do you know anything of the Poppy Playtime Factory? I just need answers."
"I'm not so sure of what I'm meant to tell you. How much do you know?"
I took a deep breath. Should I tell him the truth? I sighed, "A lot. I'll explain!"
I explained to Oscar all about me being stuck in the factory and having certain rules like the Nighttime Rule thing. Also- well just everything that happened. This was my only shot.
"Shit. You've been through a lot. Okay listen.. did you ever hear about the 3 ex-employees that went missing?" Oscar asked.
"Not really.. what happened to them?"
"It's easy to understand. Think about it like this.. all the toys feed of humans or organisms- just any living thing and they all have certain hunger levels with Huggy Wuggy and Kissy Missy being most hungry. It takes two humans to fulfil them for two weeks. Then you have Poppy, if she eats a bite of a human then she can stay filled for two months,"
"Yeah.. I know that. Well- kinda. So Poppy has the longest hunger resistance and Huggy or Kissy have the shortest?"
"Yup! Now.. you know they feed of humans, organs, organisms.. so do you think you can understand why there was three employees gone 'missing'," Oscar asked.
My whole body felt numb. They eat humans.. Wait. "How did you escape them? Why didn't they eat you?"
Oscar answered, "The employees already had suspicions about it. We even had a time, where Huggy escaped the factory and then ate one of the employees."
"But- this is only because of Elliot Lugwig! He caused this!"
"True, but he only started doing it because he couldn't believe his daughter died. The scientists and other co-workers didn't stop, I guess they all wanted someone back in their life at one point or another."
"Do the police know?"
"I don't think so. The employees covered it up. We knew we shouldn't have since our friends needed justice, but the toys didn't want any of it. They are just kids that got experimented on."
"Yeah.. I understand," I replied.
"Hey? You have to watch the cameras right?" Oscar asked.
"Mhm!"
"Go there tomorrow to check on them. Ignore Poppy's texts no matter how angry she'll be. It'll be way too much and please.. don't tell the toys about me."
"I understand."
"Good. Remember that you can always talk to me whenever you're asking yourself about it."
