Chapter 31
*3rd person's POV*
" Where is my Wei Ying?" Lan Wangji asked the man lying on my bed.
" What will your Wei Ying say when you know what you did to me. I can't even stand you beast." He sarcastically answered.
Lan Wangji looked at him emotionlessly.
" What do you think I did to you?" He asked monotonously.
He looked bewildered.
" Don't remember?" Lan Wangji smirked.
*Flashback*
*Lan Wangji's POV*
† one week before. The time 'Wei Ying' appeared in Cloud Reccesses.†
" Lan Wangji Wei Wu Xian is already awake. Won't you visit your spouse?" Jiang Wanyin sarcastically asked.
" Not my Wei Ying." I said without looking at them.
" What?!" They all asked at the same time.
Thankfully I already placed silencing charm before they even entered, so no soul from outside can hear us.
" He is not my Wei Ying, nor your adopted son. He's an imposter." I said as I looked directly in Yu Ziyuan's eyes.
" How can you say that?" Jiang Yanli asked.
" Hair not as soft as Wei Ying." I said first then breath.
I was about to say the next reason but I heard Jiang Wanyin laughing like there is no tomorrow. I frowned and looked at him.
" Don't get me wrong Lan Wangji. Out of all reason? Really? That impostor's hair is not as soft as my brother? It's not a very solid reason Lan Wangji." He said.
" I also listen to your conversation to prove my theory. Wei Ying also never complain on anything. He'll always pretend to be fine Infront of his loved ones. His voice is also slightly different. Another point, no matter where he is or what he is feeling he will always be playful.
For 5 decades I have been together with him, and the 10 years he had been staying in the Lan Clan, formality is only offered to those who don't fully know them. He even made pranks to all the elders of the Lan Clan together with Lan Jingyi and my very own Sect Leader brother." I said looking at Jiang Wanyin's eyes without emotion.
" His body is also not as slim as Wei Ying." I continued softly.
" So what's your plan?" Jiang Fengmian said.
" You'll pretend to go home today but just stay in one of the guest quarters near Jingshi. If I am not mistaken , he is not that familiar with you, therefore, Jiang Yanli can pretend to be the healer who would checked him. Do everything you can to make him angry or mention anything that can trigger his trauma like about dogs or something. I know you know him well.
Jiang Wanyin and the others better watch him in silence. I will make sure he won't get up at day or night time."
" How?!" Jiang Yanli asked.
" Back pain and sleeping pills." I said.
" Don't tell me you will...."
" I won't touch him like you imagine. I will just let him feel pain trough pressure points. It's similar to acupuncture but with no needles." I said.
" Madam Yu, Sect leader Jiang, you with the Nie assassin will start to search for Wei Ying. I'll probe his memory every night to see where Wei Ying is and rescue him directly
When I see his specific location, The Jiangs, Lans, and Nie assassins will march there and save him." I said firmly and began to probe his memory later that night.
We manage to put him under a deep sleep. I press his acupoints the one directing to back pain. Little by little we learn who he is and where did they bring Wei Ying.
It turns out he is a member of the Wen clan that has a similar features as Wei Ying. They use facial mask(like the one Xue Yang use in the drama to copy Xiao Xingchen) for him to look like Wei Ying and bring my Wei Ying to the Wen clan.
*2 days before current day*
" Jiang Wanyin pretend to be me today. I'll go and fetch my spouse." I said to Jiang Wanyin.
" But he's my brother. I'll go with you to save him." He said.
" Wangji, I will pretend to be you. Out of all people here only I knows who you really are. I know all your moves. So I'm more qualified to be the pretend you." Xiongzhang said while smiling.
" Don't worry about me. I can manage my self. Depart this evening so that no one can see you. I'll handle everything here.
Save A-Xian fast." He continued.
*Present.*
*Lan Xichen's POV*
" What did you do to me Lan Wangji?" He asked me.
" You know you must act natural if you wanted to pretend to be my Wei Ying, specially in front of me." I said.
" Well the Second Jade is really smart after all. How did you notice?" He asked.
" Wei Ying is way more better than You. Everything seems off with you." I said following my younger brother's tone.
" Well you can't save him even if I'll tell you where he is." He smirked.
" Why so?" I asked.
" He'll be married to third Young Master Wen today. After their marriage, Wei Wu Xian's memory would be erased and Third Young Master Wen and him Would go to Dongyin and live there forever."
