Albus remembered perfectly when Amelia came to him. When she ran from him and ran right towards Grindelwald.

She loved him instantly. But of course she did. She was a little thing and yet she knew, or maybe she didnt. But ALbus thought that she did. Thought she knew it would torment him that she loved Grindelwald.

"Father!" Amelia whined.

"Amelia my dearest I have told you a million times before-" Albous countered and Amelia stomped around the flat annoyed.

"You hate me! You hate me!" Amelia was shouting and screaming as though Albus was killing her.

"I love you, I love you very much." Albus corrected.

"I want to come too!" Amelia shrieked out and Albus gave in because he always did.

"Amelia-" She stared back at him holding her breath. "Stop that." Albus begged. Her face slowly went red as she held her breath. "Amelia." Albus begged. Her eyes went wide glaring up at him as she was running out of breath.

"Get your coat." Albus agreed and she jumped up a smile on her face as though she didnt look like she was about to explode. He heard her huffing a breath though as she sucked in all the air she had forgotten to take. "Manipulative little shit." ALbus murmured. "Take my hand." Albus instructed and she grabbed his hand without complaint. A chuckle escaped him.

"Lets go!" Amelia instructed. Albus nodded as they headed out.

Amelia sat impatiently at the booth, trapped between Albus and the wall as they waited.

"Would you like anything else?" the waitress questioned putting down Amelias food and a cup of tea for Albus.

"No thank you." Albus remarked. "I'm waiting for someone."

"We are waiting for my uncle." Amelia declared happily. Albus dipped in the sugar cube it melted as he stirred his tea while Amelia shoveled a forkful of pancakes drenched in syrup and whipped cream in her mouth.

Then ALbus saw him. Amelia was too focused on her food though.

"Would this be one of your regular haunts?" Grindelwald questioned.

"I dont have any regular haunts." Albus countered and Amelia jumped up.

"Uncle Grindelwald!" Amelia declared slipping under the table onto the other side of the booth.

"Hello my dearest." Grindelwald pulled amelia up into his lap. Albus face both softened and pinched as Grindelwald pressed a kiss to amelias cheek.

"I miss you, where did you go?" Amelia questioned. He just smiled running a hand through her hair.  "Can you believe father wasnt going to bring me." Amelia declared as though that was the stupidest thing ever.

"I would have been very mad at him if I didnt get to see my favorite girl." Grindelwald agreed. "How did you convince him, my dearest?"

"I held my breath until he agreed." Amelia informed him.

"Manipulation." Grindelwald agreed and Albus saw a smile on his face. "You are cunning, I see Slytherin in your future."

"Of course, it's the best house!" Amelia agreed. Albus watched her, watched them as Amelia clung to Grindelwald.

"Can you eat your breakfast Amelia? Grindelwald and I... need to talk for a moment." Albus offered and Amelia grumbled. She didnt move but Grindelwald pulled her plate towards her.

"Eat up dearest." grindelwald agreed. Amelia stabbed at her food and Grindelwald turned to Albus. "Let me see it." Grindelwald requested. Albus moved his hand slightly and he saw the necklace, the charm wrapping around Albus' hand. "Sometimes I imagine I still feel it around my neck." he remarked gently. "I carried it for so many years... how does it feel around yours?"

"We can free each other of it." Albus reminded Grindelwald but he sighed heavily.

"Love to chatter our muggle friends but one must admit they make a good cup of tea." Grindelwald countered.

"I dont like tea unless its more milk and sugar than herbs." Amelia informed him. Grindelwald chuckled.

"What you are doing is madness." Albus hissed softly.

"It's what we said we'd do." he corrected.

"I was young. I was-"

"Committed. To me." Grindelwald agreed. "To us."

"No." Albus corrected. "I went along because-"

"Because?"

"Because i was in love with you." Albus hissed his gaze shifting from Amelia to Grindelwald and back.

"Yes." Grindelwald agreed "but thats not why you went along it was you who said we would reshape the world. that it was our birthright." Grindelwald reminded him as the waitress brought him a cup of tea.

"More whipped cream." Amelia requested. "Please." She added.

"Right away." she agreed heading off.

"It's Amelia's birthright, you are taking away her future, do you not see that?" Grindelwald pondered.

"It's not." Albus said through an exasperated breath. Grindelwald tsked.

"Can you smell it? THe stench? Do you really intent to turn your back on your own kind for these animals? With or without you I'll burn their world, Albus." Grindelwald remarked.  "There is nothing you can do to stop me. Enjoy your cup of tea." Grindelwald got up and Amelia's eyes went wide.

"NO!" Amelia declared. "Come back!"

"I will see you soon my dearest." Grindelwald assured pressing a kiss to her forehead. "I have big plans for us. You and me." Amelia nodded eagerly.
