This chapter is going to add a method of android to android communication that isn't necessarily in the games but wanted to add to make the flow between characters a bit more interesting. Hope you like it!

Y/n

The time flew by as I chatted with Kara and Luther; listening to their long and difficult journey to Jericho. They had been through so much in such a short amount of time and I was so thankful they had arrived safely with 'only a few scratches' as they said. It was an understatement from what they had told me from their stories but I didn't want to dig too deep after only just meeting them. They were such lovely people and are sure to be an amazing addition to Jericho's growing community.

All of a sudden the room fills with celebration and cheers. Markus. They were back!

I quickly make my way over to the sound's origin; praying Markus would be among the survivors as Luther followed; Kara likely choosing to stay with Alice by the fire.

As I searched the crowd for Markus, I couldn't help but feel a slight difference in the air prior to their departure. My senses proved me right once I spotted Markus. His hand held North's. Their faces lit up in a way only lovers do and I found myself smiling; unable to contain myself. They had started getting closer over these last few protests and always made sure to stay in each other's sight in more dangerous situations.

North had become like a sister to me and I cherished our friendly competitions and chats in our spare time. In turn, Markus was like my second brother, always understanding my jokes and comforting me when I needed it most.

Soon enough, Markus and North made their way over to where Luther and I stood, both with wide smiles on their content faces. "It's an honor to meet you, Markus. My name is Luther. I need to speak with you about getting passports for safe travel to Canada if you have a moment." Markus smiles wider and nods; following Luther toward the fireplace where Kara and Alice sat playing with what looked like a stuffed toy.

While they walked, I playfully jabbed Markus in his side saying "Glad your not dead." He threw back a smirk and shook his head at my humor quickly whispering "I know you missed me" before reaching Kara and Alice with Luther.

North made sure to update me on all the details and turn of events from their outing and how the public was beginning to really consider the feelings of androids and that their freedom could be just around the corner as long as we stay constant with peaceful protests. It was amazing to hear and just the good news to help distract me from Connor's eyes in the back of my mind.

They were starting to become too real. It was almost like I could feel him reading my thoughts.

Was he looking for me?

CONNOR

The next day, Hank and I decided to continue our research on Y/n's whereabouts. This time at the office where each of our investigations usually began. At this point, we had been scouring our sources but had come up with nothing of use. We only had information on the location of their latest protests which didn't give us much to go off of. The quiet of the room; aside from Hank's constant keyboard tapping; was cut as Hank kicked his desk chair in frustration. His hands rung through his hair as he let out a heavy groan accompanied by a sigh of defeat.

"Connor, this is driving me insane. There is almost nothing to go off of to where Y/n could be!" He slowly glanced at his desk and working space from across from mine looking tired beyond belief from countless hours of assessing camera footage and news articles. He needed a break.

"I'm taking a break, Connor." At least I don't have to convince him anymore. "I don't think I can stand looking at my useless computer anymore. A pee break and a donut wouldn't hurt." Hank starts making his way toward the restrooms on the far side of the floor.

In his absence, I look at the time, noticing we'd been in the confinements of the office for around five hours. Gosh, It's almost three in the morning. And we hadn't discovered even a bit of useful information.

How on earth are we going to find you Y/n without predicting your next move?

Just then, I feel my LED begin to flash rapidly Yellow-Yellow-Red. An AX400 android was trying to contact me.

Peculiar

I was hesitant to respond to it at first but decided to take my chances; answering the 'call'.

The voice of the android flowed through my ears almost immediately.

She was next to a fire it seemed as crackles and light small talk filled the background as she spoke.

"My name is Kara. You let me and Alice go on the highway a few months back."

I wasn't proud of my actions that night. Now that I was technically a Deviant, her longing for freedom for both her and her child made sense to me. She felt the same way I did for Y/n and wanted safety.

"I recall the night vividly. I was blind back then and am sorry I caused you and Alice to be put in danger like that... Might I ask, what's the purpose of this call?"

This puzzled me. Why would she risk calling me? To her knowledge, I was still a threat to her.

"I found Jericho and..." She hesitated, "I found Y/n." I stood from my chair in shock. A burst of energy filled my body at the good news. "I haven't told her anything about your feelings. I thought you might want to tell her yourself... so that's why I've called as odd as it is."

I didn't let my shock trap me a second longer and let my words fall out. "Thank you. That means a lot to me, Kara. I promise I won't tell anyone about the whereabouts of Jericho. I swear to you. I just..." My voice quivered midsentence. "I need to see her. I would never jeopardize the lives in Jericho. I've changed since our last encounter... in many ways, I'm ways I'm indebted for."

I could almost hear her smile from the other end. "I'm glad to hear it. I'm indebted to you for letting us go that day... You will see Y/n soon. I'll make sure of it."

Y/n. I'm finally going to see you.

I'm finally going to hold you...

Just thinking about you made me lost for words.

But being able to live in your presence again... to know your safe.

That was all I could ever wish for.
