                                                          Love, Author

Y/n

      I couldn't believe it.

This moment was in all seriousness one of the best moments of my life

Even though we had been talking for quite a while, I still couldn't believe I was here with Carl.

It seemed like a dream come true and at first, I couldn't help but cry with happiness at the sight of him.

After hours of sharing how we had been all these years and all the things we had done through this time, we noticed how late it was growing and departed.

I hugged Carl tightly as we said our Goodbyes in the entrance room. I once again couldn't help but cry at the thought of leaving Carl again.

"It was a joy seeing you again Y/n. I hope we will soon see each other again." He said as we parted from our long hug.

"We will. I promise you. It was great seeing you again too." I said as Markus walked me outside.

Before I left, Markus insisted on walking me to my car, but I told him it wasn't a big deal. He was already home so I didn't want to put it on him to walk all the way back to his house. I also knew the way back fairly well because of all my time living next door to him.

After a while of walking, I made it to my car which was still in the parking lot of the Whole foods store. I noticed the store was closed and that the parking lot was completely empty except for my car and one other. I heard a lot of chattering coming from the other vehicle that was placed quite a distance in front of my own. I looked up out of curiosity and noticed a large group of men making their way over to my car. At first, I thought they needed help with something, considering their foreign looks.

"Do you need something sirs?" I asked as they made their way right up to me.

I smelt something strong from the men and cringed when I noticed it was alcohol.

       They were drunk.

They likely didn't need help. Considering the fact that they were drunk, I unlocked my car quickly. I pushed myself quickly into my car but one of the men's hands pulling my arm from the door stopped me in my tracks as the group surrounded me.

"Hello there missy. You wouldn't happen to have any money on you would you?" One man asked as they all began talking amongst themselves. I tried yanking my hand away but was surprised when the drunk man held on with strong hands.

"Get away from me. I'm not going to give you anything." I said continually struggling to get out of the man's grasp. More hands came onto me as they searched for any money I had. I began slapping at their hands but stopped when one man brought a knife out of his pocket and held it up to me.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you sweat heart." He paused for a moment, his eyes filled with hazy drunkenness. His beard jiggled as his dark chuckle climbed its way to my ears. "Unless you want to get cut." He continued as my face filled with fear.

Out of nowhere, I heard a punching sound towards my left. The crowd including me stared in shock at one of the drunk men on the floor, passed out with a black eye.

The bearded man with the knife moved quickly, twirling me around so my back was squared to his chest, holding the knife to my neck, keeping me in place with his spare hand. I squeaked when I felt the sharp blade press against the sensitive skin of my neck.

I closed my eyes in reaction but soon opened them when I heard the voice of my protector.

"Remove that knife from her or I won't hesitate to put a bullet in that thick head of yours."

The voice said as I heard what sounded like a low click. I squinted my eyes open and saw Connor holding a gun toward the man's head behind me. The clicking sound was the safety being turned off. I was shocked when I saw Connor's face. I had never before seen him so angry before. His face showed worry, anger, love, and many more emotions I couldn't read at first glance. I felt the knife glaze over my skin a bit more as I closed my eyes again.

"I don't think you would want to do that. Unless you want this pretty little neck of hers to get messed up." The man holding me said as I got angry at the thought of me dying at the end of this. I closed my eyes again feeling weak in my knees when I noticed blood dripping from where the knife was pressed even harder.

"You've given me no choice," Connor said as he moved the gun to the right and pulled the trigger.

The man dropped to the floor and I ran to Connor, trying to escape the other men surrounding us. Fear was across all of their faces as they noticed Connor had taken down one of their own. Connor wrapped his arms around me and I did the same.

"It's ok now. Your safe." He said stroking my hair as I heard the sound of sirens coming towards us. The police arrested all of the men including the man who had been shot with what I soon found out was a sleeping dart. I was relieved the man didn't die because no one deserved to die, even if they were a criminal.

Connor never left my side throughout the process and I was happy he stayed with me. The whole situation was a little too much for me to comprehend and I was still in shock. Connor walked me home without even asking for permission and I knew that he didn't want to risk me getting into any more situations this late at night. He never let go of my hand the whole way back home. I felt protected.

I was overwhelmingly grateful for him.

Once he parked his car in my driveway, he walked me up to my front door.

"I apologize for not helping you earlier. I wa-" I interrupted him by planting a kiss on his cheek.

"You saved me. That's all that matters." I said as I noticed Connor look away touching his cheek lightly.

"What was that for?" He asked placing his eyes on my own.

I smiled. "For being a REAL hero," I said and he laughed at my statement.
