26 || Little Heart

Nico

She held my hand on our way to the restroom, "Are you okay you've been shaking since we got here?" She whispered as we made it to the restrooms, "No I have no idea why I don't feel..." her eyes were filled with worry

she knew something was up but I didn't have the courage to tell her I felt uncomfortable being around her rich friends, "Tell me" She placed her hands on my cheeks staring into my eyes

Her voice was calm and soothing I couldn't keep quiet, "I feel uncomfortable" I shut my eyes and muttered, "We could leave" She nods her heads

"What their your friends tho" 
"So? You're not feeling your best right now and I understand we could leave" 

I felt my cheeks burn and my stomach get empty, "I just fell in love" her eyes widen from my intrusive thoughts taking over "FUCK I MEAN-" she suddenly giggles and takes my hand 

she wraps her fingers around mine as we headed back toward our table, Esme and Tristen were done eating once we made it back, "Hey Esme something just came up-" "Oh my god same it's my uncle we have to go as well" she stood up digging into her purse for her wallet

"I'll take care of it" I take my wallet from my pockets and pull out a 100 bill, "No, no-" "I got it" I arch a brow at Adeline digging into her purse as well

The waiter passed by and I quickly handed him the 100 bucks and patted him on the back, "Keep the change" I smirk as we all walked out the front entrance

"Is our wedding actually happening in a month?" I break the silence as we made our way back to Adeline's place, "Uh I don't know" She hummed not taking her eyes off the road,

we got back at the mansion, it started pouring rain causing the ice to freeze and become slippery, "Stay here" I said opening my door as she stayed in the car

The rain was soaking me wet, I rushed toward her door and take my coat off, I take her hand and place my coat above her head, "Nico your getting soaked" She said as we carefully walked up the front door

"So?"
"You'll get sick," She said, we make it to the porch and I take off the coat from above her head, "Angel..." I said letting out a sigh

"yes?" She said curiously staring at me, "When we get married, will you-will you run away right after?" She stayed silent, not wanting to answer my question

I wanted her to answer my question, I needed to know, "I don't know" She shakes her head glancing down at the ground, "Right" I sighed again, 

we stood in the freezing cold for what felt like hours in pure silence, just the sound of rain pouring, something about Adeline leaving and never seeing her again

made me feel upset, I won't see her, I won't talk to her, I won't stare into those light green eyes, I won't feel her...

I didn't want her to leave

I wanted her to stay, stay with me, I was afraid this would happen, we would become close and eventually switch plans, my plan was to get married and kill her right after she hands me the mob

But I hate it, I hate the fucking plan, I hated her's as well, I wanted to stay, I wanted to stay with her, I wanted her to stay with me

"Adeline" I somehow didn't have control of my own voice or my action, I wasn't the one speaking 

"Run away with me" my heart was speaking for me,

She quickly glanced back up with a shocked facial expression, she shakes her head no, "We could be together, me and you will have a family I'll protect you, don't leave" 

I took a step closer holding onto her hands, "hand the mafia to someone else," "Nico no" Tears suddenly started breaking through her eyes 

"I can't let you leave angel, I don't want you to leave-" "Nico our agreement-" "Fuck our agreement I just...I want to stay with you" 

Adeline

I was so surprised, so stunned, He doesn't want me to leave, he wants me to stay...with him, suddenly everything about him changed

His eyes were filled with worry and he was begging me to stay, I could almost see a glimpse of water in his eyes, he held my hands so tight like if he let go I would die, I wanted to nod and say yes

But I can't stay here, I want my own life, I'm not ready to...to love him, 

"Nico, where is this coming from?" I asked still shaking my head, His glance went from my eyes to my lips to the ground, he was soaking wet

his hair was wet, his face was wet, and so were his eyes, "I can't lose someone else, you are all I have" he said

"I have nobody, my parents think I'm crazy, your friends don't trust me, your parents hate me, your the only one who sees hope in me," he said, "I need you, angel, I want you, and I know you do too,"

tears slipped through my eyes before I could speak, his gaze went back to my eyes, "You want to be with me, but- but your afraid to be with me because you think I'm a monster" "No Nico that's not true!" 

I shout taking a step closer toward him, I cup his face with my hands wiping the tears from his eyes, He held onto my wrist while staring into my eyes

"I can't Nico, we agreed on what we agreed and we have to work with it," I said still holding onto his face, His eyes grew darker, I know Nico has never been rejected before and I know how much it hurts

but this won't work, we can't work, I won't give up my dreams for a man, even if that man is Nico, he opened his eyes back up and let out a growl

"Your right, we won't work, I'll most likely break your sensitive little heart and tare it apart" he pushes my hands off him and bursts through the rain toward his car
