Papa told me everything about his past, what Enzo did to him, what Casey did to him, I was stunned when he told me Marco had betrayed him when they were younger, But the more papa talked about him the more I saw Nico in him

Their humor, their words, their voice, he really is his father's son he just doesn't know it yet, he told me what Selena did to mama, I felt my throat close up once she was finished

I had no words, They've been through hell. I can't imagine how they felt, after dinner, we decided to take a stroll through the park in silence, it was pretty chilly outside yet I felt my body heat rose by the second

I was still trying to take everything into place, It was years ago, and papa kept telling me he could read me like a book and knew I was getting upset by it

"Addie" papa let out a sighed and froze in place, I spun around to see him glaring at the ground, his hands inside his pockets, his eyes meeting mine

"I want to ask you something, and I want you to be honest with me" this wasn't good one bit, his voice was firm and serious

I break eye contact and glance at the ground and back at him, "Yes?" I gulp tilting my head, "I know you love him" His words almost made me trip on my heels

"But why do I get the hint you don't want to get married?"

My world has collapsed, out of all people I didn't want my father to find out, please if there was a way to travel back in time that would be amazing

"What" I let out a shy chuckle, "What's going on Addie" a shot of wind hits me in the face, "Just nerves papa" I faked a smile and crossed my arms across my chest

"Just nerves?"
"Yep" I nod,
"Stop lying to me Addie" yeah stop lying Addie

He sighs and takes a seat on a bench that had been beside us, he aims his hand for me to join, I take a deep breath and sit beside him, staring into the dark night

while the city lights flashed us in the face, "Tell me Adeline please, " I've never heard papa beg before, never in my twenty-three years have I expected papa to beg

His words came out as a broken whisper, making me want to burst into tears, "It'll hurt me more if you don't end up telling me" he's right

I need to open my mouth, and finally tell someone, I'm at the point of running away without a word, "I do love Nico, hell I love that idiot with my whole heart," I sniffle glancing straight into the dark beautiful sky

From the corner of my eyes I could see papa nod and lean back in the bench, "But" I sighed, "He wants me to stay" "What do you mean?"

God here comes the tears, "Are you talking about you leaving?" He chuckled softly, I glance at him with confusion in my eyes, "Yes papa" I said softly

"Okay...I can help you move out-"
"No papa" I cut him off shaking my head,

"I mean leaving, for good"

I could see from his eyes his heart shattered into a million pieces, "You... you're leaving me?" his voice broke, I didn't respond I just stared him in the eyes

Then I broke, I finally broke, I broke in front of my papa, the pain the tears it was burning into my skin

Papa wrapped his arms around me as tears fell from his eyes as well, "I hate my life papa, I don't want this, I want to start a family without them being afraid" I sobbed

he nodded, "It's okay" he held me close, and his warmth made me feel much better, I release him and stood up

not wanting to face him, but he stood beside me holding onto my hand, "It pains me to say this" A pause, "Knowing I'll be losing my only child," another long pause and I glared up at him

he wouldn't look at me, he just stared straight ahead, the moonlight hitting us, the reflection of his tears was what I could see bright as day

"I want you to be happy Tesoro" he inhaled and exhaled a breath, my heart was slowly sinking into my stomach, is he saying what I think he was saying?

"If leaving for good means you'll be happy then..." His voice broke again, "Then I'll finally let you go"

My heart shattered, my soul disappears, and I was in a different universe, "I'll pay for your plane ticket to wherever you'll like to go, I'll help you pack, and I'll make sure you get there safe"

I hovered my hand on my mouth, this ain't real, this is a dream or a nightmare, "But you need to promise me one thing" he finally faced me in the eyes

I nod, "When you get married, have your kids, and have the life you dreamed of, promise me Victoria and I get to see our miracle baby grow"

"Yes of course" I sobbed wrapping my arms around his neck, His arms around my back, he hugged me tighter and tighter he was afraid to let me go

"But you have to promise me one thing too" I mumble in his ear, "anything Tesoro"

I let out a breath before saying the most hurtful words that I'll probably ever say, I didn't want to but I need to put myself first for once, my feelings always get the best of me.

"Promise me you'll keep everyone safe," he nods
"Promise me you'll always fight back" he nods
"And..." I gulp

"Promise me Nico will never find out where I am" he doesn't nod, but after a few seconds he says "Okay"
