Art up there is mine grrrrrr
Yeah, it's a sketch of how I think Ace would look like in his human form.⠀ ⠀

A oneshot, aftermath of the first episode of season 4.

Hiccup confronts Ace after the Pool of Valor incident. But Ace wasn't saying anything, so Hiccup gave up and decided to drink Thatch's stash of mead.

Unbeknownst to Ace, Hiccup can remember everything even after his drunken state is all gone and sober.

Back at the Edge, Hiccup and Ace were the first ones to arrive. Thirty minutes later the riders have arrived to see Hiccup rebuilding the bases along with Thatch, while Ace was cooped up in his and Hiccup's makeshift hut to cool himself down. Hiccup was utterly confused, but was still convinced his dragon was just grumpy and wanted to get back home.

Which was weird considering Ace liked the companies of new people and eating the sagefruit the tribesmen were feeding him.

The next day Hiccup decided to talk to his dragon. In the earliest hours of the morning, he got up, jumping out of his bed and flopped down towards the sleeping figure of his dragon. For three whole years he's been doing this to his dragon whenever the boy awoke first. Before, Ace often jumped awake, startled and immediately got into a defensive mode, but now, the man had gotten used to the startling action and let the boy fall into his figure, as long as Hiccup doesn't have any armor on him.

"Morning Ace!" he chirped and Ace chuckled softly. "Morning Hiccup." he responded and wrapped a wing around Hiccup's small but tall figure. He liked it whenever the boy caressed his wing, and Hiccup loved holding the dragon's wing, caressing it's soft scales and admiring it's raven features. Hiccup sat still like this, his head leaned on the dragon's back with his wing around him. It was always comfortable sleeping in between Ace's dragon legs and arms, keeping himself warmer and safe. Sometimes whenever the riders barged into Hiccup's hut, they couldn't find the said brunette around his bed, only for Snotlout to find Hiccup curled up to his dragon's chest and sound asleep.

Not wanting to ruin this moment, Hiccup sighed. He had to say something eventually. And the time is now before the thorston twins begin on their daily shenanigans. "Ace. Ace. Ace." he called out, knowing a single call wouldn't catch his dragon's attention.

"Noisy. I'm trying to sleep." Ace uttered and Hiccup rolled his eyes.

"Let's talk, Ace."

That ought to shut Ace up from starting jokes whenever Hiccup decided to use the two big words. He glanced slightly to face his grinning human. "What do you wanna talk about?" the dragon questioned, trying to get straight to the point, and that was Hiccup's cue to speak. "I wanna know what's up with you yesterday. You're probably grumpy, but that doesn't excuse the fact you were making Mala uncomfortable with her flight back home or the fact you just grabbed me out of nowhere from finishing the trial and dragged me back home." his question tensed Ace up, glancing back to face the front and avoid eye contact with his human. "Eh, I had a reason." was all he managed to blurt out, and Hiccup raised an eyebrow. "And? What's the reason?"

The dragon no longer spoke, he was just giving out soft purring as a way to avoid the brunette's question.

"Tell me Ace, please." Hiccup pleaded, then sighed. He gently held Ace's head and moved it to face him, "Ace, talk to me." he asked, but barely had gotten an answer. "Ace I'm not mad, I just, I'm just curious." Hiccup exclaimed softly, that at least got Ace's draconic eyes to stare right back at the brunette, who started smiling at his dragon. Ace attempted to look away since for some reason the boy's smiles and puppy eyes often urges Ace to give in to his stupid requests, like the time Hiccup begged Ace to come with him in case anything happens to him the moment his old invented flight suit failed.
