Part 48: Lillian's haters

Chaeryeong's perspective:

I was in the middle of working on the next album with the rest of ITZY when I had gotten a notification on my phone. It's gone off a few times now, so I went to go turn it off when I had noticed Lillian's message.

Chaery, are you aloud to come over? I need support rn 😭-Lillian
Sent five minutes ago

Sorry babe! Just saw the message! I'll go see if it's possible-Chaeryeong

I looked up from my phone and faced the other members of ITZY. They were waiting on me to be ready to practice choreography again.

"Hey um... Lillian's needing support at the moment. Is it okay if I return to the dorm to see what's up?" I asked.

"Did something happen? Who do I need to fight!?" Lia answered. I shook my head.

"I don't know. She just said that she needs support." I said. Everyone looked at Yeji who nodded her head. "Thank you so much! I'll let you know what happened and if Lillian's fine with me returning!"

I rushed back to my dorm that I shared with Lillian. On my way there, I had checked to see if she was live or had made a new video. Nothing. I opened the dorm door quickly.

"Lillian, sorry I'm late!" I yelled. "I just saw the message a few minutes ago!"

Nobody answered.

"Lillian?" I yelled once again. I had decided to look around, and heard someone crying from the bedroom. "LILLIAN?!"

I rushed to the bedroom, and saw Lillian crying into a pillow with her phone on the floor, which had clearly slipped out of her hand. I put her phone on the night desk without looking at it before laying next to her, cuddling her comfortingly.

"Babe, what's the matter?" I asked. "Did your trauma come back?"

"N-no." Lillian sobbed before wrapping her arms around me the way she does when something wrong. "They hate me."

"What are you talking about? Who hates you?" I asked curiously. Lillian's never really cared about the way people think of her unless it's one of her friends or me. She grabbed the phone and handed it to me. I haven't realized it was on when I had picked it up. She was on Twitter, where people were talking about out recent event. At first, I didn't know why Lillian was upset, but ad I scrolled down more, I started to see hateful comments.

I had turned off the phone and continued to comfort my crying girlfriend. I now know what's upsetting her.

"Come on, babe. When did you ever care about what other people think of you?" I brought up as I caressed her hair and gave her a kiss. "Besides, those things aren't true, you're an amazing person!"
