Only Chaeryeong

Part 4: Midnight

3rd pov:
It's been two months since ITZY had left the states. All of the ITZY members had been calling Lillian a lot and vice versa, but it was mainly Lillian and Chaeryeong that called eachother as they had loved to share things with eachother. Although Chaeryeong had denied to admit it whenever her friends and family mentioned it, Chaeryeong actually grew feelings for Lillian in the past week, but is hiding it so nobody would know.

Chaeryeong and the girls missed Lillian and had completely forgot that Lillian passed the auditioning for JYP entertainment, so when Lillian went live in South Korea from YouTube, everyone was surprised and had decided to pick Lillian up and treat her for dinner. After ITZY had Lillian were done with their dinner, they showed Lillian where her dorm was, which was conveniently and relatively close to ITZY's with only a two minute walk.

Lillian's perspective:
I had laid my bags down on the floor and started unpacking after I reached my dorm and said goodnight to the girls. I was sad I couldn't bring all of my clothes, so I only brought those I needed and those that were special to me. ITZY merchandise, a few nice dresses, and my music outfits were all the clothes I brought. As for music equipment, I managed to be able to bring my violin, guitar, home-made rice shaker, maracas, and my microphone, which I've left behind a total of two times so far whenever I brought it with me somewhere.

When I finished unpacking, I felt rather lonely and wanted to keep myself busy, but didn't want to go live again for this week, and had already said goodnight to the girls, so I had decided put together clips from the stream along with other things I did this week, and put them into a video for my show before working on my 7th album, Paranormal, which releases in 2028 since I was already done with all the songs from all the other albums I planned out.

While I was working on making choreography for one of the songs from the Paranormal album, I heard my phone ringing. It was Chaeryeong. I had liked her a lot, and has been having feelings for her ever since I watched he Jeju vlog when I was a Sophomore, which was years ago, and while Chaeryeong and I did get close, I still didn't feel like she liked me that way, so I kept trying to hide my love for her away. It took me several ringings of the phone before I answered it and paused my music.

"Hello!" I said with a calm but tired voice.

"Hi! You sound tired, didn't I wake you up?" Chaeryeong asked. Her voice was always so soothing to me, but you could also always tell the emotion behind it.

"No, I have seasonal insomnia, I can hardly sleep in the winters, if at all, so I keep myself busy."

"Oh, ok. What were you doing?" You could tell she was curious to know.

"I was just working on choreography for the songs in my 7th album, Paranormal. Well, at least for the songs that don' have choreography done for them at least." I announced. She seemed very excited, but I could tell she couldn't sleep either.

"Ooh! That sounds interesting! I knew you were good with choreography, but I had always thought someone made the choreography for your songs for you."

"No, I made all the choreography myself." I couldn't help but chuckle. "There's people who make choreography for my songs that don' have choreography, but none of them are official. What are you up to?

"I was just reading some romance novels while trying to get some sleep, but I had no luck, so I had decided to call you!" Chaeryeong began. "By the way, um... I know that you don't really give people special treatment, buuuuuut, would you mind if I can over to your place and hear your music and watch you practice the choreography? The other girls are asleep, and I want to do something other than reading. And maybe I could also give a bit of advice while I'm at it?"

I had to stop and think for a bit. I never really allowed people to join me during my practice, or the development of the music unless I was streaming and muted the microphone, as it's always been emotional whenever I practice. Besides, I never really give special treatment when it comes to music. Then again, nobody ever asked if they could join me, so would it really be special treatment?

"Sure." you finally say "but just be aware, choreography practice is slow for me and is a very emotional process. Also, it's not special treatment, nobody's ever asked to join me on choreography practice, that's why I never have anyone with me when I do it, and I don' stream me doing it because it's emotional."

"Okay! I'll be there in a few minutes!" Chaeryeong said with a huge smile on her face. You could tell she was happy and excited even though you weren't there to see it. It made your heart warm.

Chaeryeong's perspective:
     I was heading over to Lillian's dorm, and I was very excited! Nobody's ever seen her do choreography practice before, making me the first. I was about to knock on the door when my heart started beating fast. I do have a crush on her, but I don't think she feels the same about me. And even if she does like me back, I feel like I would get in the way of her music. I'm not sure if she even knows about me having a crush on her or not, I'm always dead silent when I'm around her unless I have to speak, or unless I'm laughing, but always talk freely on calls.

     I knocked on the door, and a few seconds later, it opened.

     "Welcome!" Said Lillian with a friendly smile on her face.

     She must've calculated how long she'll be up for since she still looked just as good as earlier today. No, better. She was wearing black gloves, a very deep-blue gown that had slits at her waist and her legs. On top of her outfit, she was wearing fanged earrings, no necklaces or bracelets unlike earlier today, black make-up and her hair tied up in a tight bun.

     I entered into Lillian's dorm with my heart beating fast and my face a little pink due to her looking extremely attractive. Her dorm was full of posters of a few different bands, but mostly had posters of the group I'm a part of, ITZY. I also saw our light ring hung up. I couldn't help but to look around, and my eyes stopped on two string instruments, a violin, and guitar.

     "You play the violin and the guitar?!" I asked, absolutely amazed.

     "Actually, I play more. I play the violin, guitar, maracas, drums, piano-" Lillian continued to list off instruments, having to count on her fingers. You zoned out as she continued to list what instruments she plays and was falling for her charm. You've never known anyone who can play that much instruments. You stared into Lillian's eyes, and realized how they kinda match her hair as well. You continued to observe Lillian carefully before you were pulled back into reality. "-Oh, I also know how to do all of that digitally as well. So I think that equals... hm... 27 instruments!"

    Your jaws dropped in amazement. Lillian was able to tell you were impressed and walked close up to you, causing your heart to race.

     "Would you like me to play the violin for you?" Lillian asked in a tone that made it sound like she was flirting with you.

"S-sure!" You replied, thinking that this was her jokingly flirt with you until you saw Lillian pick up her violin and bow, and started to play. i watched Lillian think for a second before putting the bow on her violin after applying the rosin.

The second that Lillian had started playing, I knew the song. It was Lillian's song, Midnight, the song that you said was your favorite, she remembered it, and she was playing it in front of you for the first time. I closed my eyes and emerged myself with her music. I started carefully singing each word to the song with the same tune, the same emotions, just different voice, causing it to sound different. After the song ended, I continued to have my eyes sealed until I heard an unfamiliar song.

I opened my eyes and saw Lillian reach out her hand to me. She was blushing immensely, and you thought she was about to start jokingly flirting with you again but...

"Would you like to dance, you know, as friends?" Lillian asked with a calm voice.

That was it. My heart was stolen by one of my favorite musicians ever. My heart was beating very quickly now, but I decided to take the offer. I grabbed Lillian's hand, and we danced for as long as I can remember, but in a time that felt so short.
