Chapter 20: Promises

As the chemotherapy sessions go by, the tumor shows very little change. Taehyung feels like crying as he holds his thin boyfriend in his arms. I should be grateful that the tumor isn't growing, but it is hard watching him disappear like this. Spring is here, but he can barely move without pain. No, I can't be crying like this. I will find a way for him to enjoy the spring weather.

When Jungkook wakes up, the spot next to him in the bed is empty, so he slowly gets out of the bed to find Taehyung.

"Will this be comfortable for him?" Taehyung mumbles as he looks at the wheelchair that just arrived.

"Moonflower, what are you doing?" Jungkook asks as he slowly walks over to his boyfriend.

"We are going out to the park for a walk to enjoy the spring flowers and weather." Taehyung smiles as he looks at Jungkook.

"That sounds nice. I am guessing that you are sitting in the chair while I push you." Jungkook chuckles which brings a big smile to Taehyung's face.

"I have to get my exercise in while pushing you around." Taehyung giggles and walks over to Jungkook and gently kisses him on the lips.

"Hmm, okay. I agree." Jungkook softly smiles and wraps his arms around his boyfriend. "I would love to see flowers."

"Let's get ready for a spring outing." Taehyung rests his head on Jungkook's shoulder and listens to Jungkook softly breathing.

As Taehyung bathes him, Jungkook suddenly has the urge to go and see the ocean. 

"Hyung, what are you thinking about?" Taehyung softly asks when he sees that Jungkook is thinking about something.

"I know that we are going to go and see flowers, but I suddenly want to go to the beach." Jungkook answers and looks up at Taehyung.

"Then, let's go to the beach!" Taehyung happily smiles and kisses Jungkook on the forehead.

"But the wheelchair won't work on the sand." Jungkook quietly mumbles as Taehyung helps him out of the water.

"That's okay. I'll carry you when you get tired." Taehyung smiles and grabs Jungkook a towel.

"That will be quite romantic." Jungkook chuckles and watches as Taehyung quickly gets into the shower.

By the time they are ready to go to the beach, Taehyung has told Jungkook about every food stall he has found near the beach they are going to. As they walk to their car, Taehyung continues to scroll through his phone finding different foods. He is waiting for Jungkook's reaction to see which place they should eat at.

"The seafood place sounds nice. I think that it has a deck that goes out into the water." Jungkook tells Taehyung who quickly nods in excitement then opens the car door for him.

"We'll walk on the beach until we get hungry. We can watch the sunset too." Taehyung smiles in excitement.

"That sounds wonderful." Jungkook gently intertwines their fingers as Taehyung pulls the car out of the garage.

The drive to Busan is quiet as Jungkook sleeps, and Taehyung makes sure that they arrive safely. When they arrive at Jungkook's home on the beach, Taehyung lefts him out of the car and carries his boyfriend bridal-style to the shore.

"Flower?" Jungkook sleepily mumbles when he feels the sea breeze flit against his face.

"We are here." Taehyung softly tells his sleepy boyfriend.

"The breeze is nice." Jungkook smiles and rests his head against Taehyung's chest, listening to his flower's steady heartbeat.

"The weather is perfect today." Taehyung hums and walks over to the shore line. When his feet touch the edge of the water, he gently sets Jungkook down.
