Chapter 18: Not Alone

After the second treatment, Taehyung holds his sleeping boyfriend in his arms and brushes his fingers through his boyfriend's soft hair. As he pulls his hand away, he sees Jungkook's hair in his hand. A tear trickles down his face as he looks at his boyfriend's beautiful hair falling out.

"How did you get through this alone last time?" Taehyung softly cries and kisses the top of his boyfriend's head.

"Why are you crying?" Jungkook sleepily mutters when he hears his boyfriend's cries.

"Because my love is in pain." Taehyung sniffles and kisses Jungkook's nose.

"I am okay. I really am." Jungkook snuggles closer to Taehyung, seeking his warmth. "Will you shave my head for me?" He asks when he sees his hair on the pillow. "I don't want to do it by myself like I had to last time."

"Of course. I will do anything for you." Taehyung quickly tightens his embrace around his boyfriend as he tries to stop his tears from falling.

"Thank you." Jungkook whispers and falls back to sleep.

As Jungkook sleeps, Taehyung opens his laptop and begins searching for warm and soft hats for Jungkook to wear. It is winter, so Taehyung knows that Jungkook will be cold. As he shops, he finds many hats for Jungkook and ends up ordering all of them. To his relief, two of the hats will be delivered that day, so he can put it on Jungkook once he shaves his head.

"What are you doing?" Jungkook sleepily mumbles and sits up.

"I am shopping." Taehyung smiles as Jungkook rests his head on his shoulder.

"Oh, having fun?"

"I am definitely having fun." Taehyung whispers and kisses Jungkook's forehead. "It is time to eat."

"I'm not hungry." Jungkook mutters and wraps his arms around his boyfriend.

"I'll just heat up the chicken broth that Jin hyung made for you. It will be nice and warm." Taehyung softly smiles at his exhausted boyfriend.

"Okay." Jungkook hums as he lovingly smiles at his boyfriend. 

Once Taehyung gets up and goes to the kitchen, Jungkook takes his laptop to search for a K-drama for them to watch. "Something that will make him smile."

As the broth heats up on the stove, the doorbell rings, so Taehyung goes to answer the door. When he opens the door, he is handed a box with two beanies. After opening the box, Taehyung goes back to their bedroom. "Hyung, what are you doing?" He softly asks as he watches Jungkook seriously search for shows on his laptop.

"I'm trying to find something to watch." Jungkook smiles at his sweet boyfriend.

"Okay, before we do that, how about we take care of your hair?" Taehyung asks and sits on the bed with Jungkook. He knows that it will be harder on Jungkook if he continues to watch his hair fall out.

"Okay." Jungkook nods and sets the laptop aside. 

Once they are in the bathroom, Taehyung has Jungkook sit on a chair he brought into the bathroom then finds the hair clipper and plugs it in. He looks at Jungkook through the mirror and softly smiles at him.

"Should I leave fun designs?" Taehyung giggles as he gently presses the clippers at the base of Jungkook's head.

"Leave a star." Jungkook grins and watches as his boyfriend begins shaving his head.

"Very well." Taehyung smiles and pays careful attention to his boyfriend's precious head.

As Jungkook's hair falls to the ground, both stay calm. Jungkook's soft gaze stays on Taehyung through the mirror.
