Chapter 31: Monster Surrounded by Monsters

"Kim, must we really do this?" Soojung huffs as they sit across from each other at a restaurant.

"Of course." Taehyung coldly answers and looks at the menu.  I really miss Jin hyung's food. 

"When I saw your file, I was hoping that you weren't an asshole. I got excited because I thought that my father had actually picked someone kind and warm." Soojung glares at Taehyung.

"Sorry to disappoint." Taehyung sighs in annoyance and motions the waiter over. Just bear with me for a small amount of time. This will be over soon. I promise.

Once they order, they are quiet and do not say a single word until Soojung grows tired of the quiet atmosphere.

"What kind of art are you studying?"

"Sculpture and painting." Taehyung answers and takes a sip of his wine.

"Do you have a favorite person to sculpt or paint?"

"Yes." Taehyung sighs and thinks about his loving boyfriend.

"Who?"

"None of your business." Taehyung mutters and looks out of the window at the sunset.

"If I am going to be your wife, I think that I have a right to know the people in your life." Soojung mutters with anger in her voice.

"No, you do not. Just like how I will not intrude on your personal life, you will not intrude into my personal life." Taehyung coldly answers as he angrily grips his glass in his hand. There is no doubt in my mind that you will try to hurt the people I care about in order to control me. I know that I am annoying her, but I cannot trust her. 

"Then, can I have whatever girlfriends I want?" She asks in a menacing voice.

"As long as you are not caught by the media, I do not care." Taehyung shrugs and takes a sip of his wine.

"You really are a bastard." She grumbles with a glare.

"I think that I am pretty open minded." Taehyung chuckles and continues to watch as the sun disappears.

"What happens if I get caught?" She taunts and feels like tossing her red wine on Taehyung.

"There is no if. You will not get caught." Taehyung snarls and glares at her. If I can hide my boyfriend from all of the eyes watching me, then you can hide as well.

"I plan on making your life hell." Soojung hisses in annoyance.

"Try." Taehyung chuckles and takes a sip of his wine.

As they eat, Taehyung minds his own business as Soojung glares at him. Even if we had met under different circumstances, there is no way we could be friends. 

Once Taehyung finishes eating, he stands up from his chair without a word and leaves. During the drive back to the mansion, he rolls down his window and enjoys the spring breeze.

"Driver Lee, will you take me to the river?" Taehyung asks as he sticks his hand out of the window and enjoys the wind rippling between his fingers.

"Yes, Young Master Kim." His driver answers and drives Taehyung to the river.

When they reach the river, Taehyung gets out of the vehicle and sits down on the grass. "You can make your report to my father. I do not mind." Taehyung tells his driver who bows in thanks and calls Taehyung's father to inform him of the events of the night.

"Young Master Kim, I apologize for interrupting your peace, but you are requested to return to the mansion by your grandparents." Driver Lee politely bows to Taehyung.
