Chapter 24: Dusk

When Taehyung wakes up the morning after wishing Jungkook good bye, he dives into the work he has missed. To forget that his boyfriend has left to fight for his life, Taehyung works every ticking second of the day. The only reprieve he has is when his phone rings.

"Jungkook hyung!" Taehyung happily greets his boyfriend and waves.

"Hey, Moonflower." Jungkook smiles and waves when his beautiful boyfriend appears on screen smiling.

"Did you sleep well? How are you feeling?" Taehyung asks as he takes in every detail of his boyfriend.

"I slept well, and I am feeling well." Jungkook answers with a smile. "How are you? Did you sleep well?"

"I slept well. I've been busy working on my project." Taehyung responds and flips his camera to show his boyfriend what he has been working on.

"It already looks really nice." Jungkook praises as he looks at Taehyung's work in progress. "Tae, thank you for the painting." Jungkook smiles then looks at the painting of the sea that Taehyung painted for him.

"You are welcome. I thought that you might like something that reminds you of home." Taehyung smiles and lies down on his bed while looking at his boyfriend on the screen.

"I love you so much. I miss you." Jungkook softly tells Taehyung.

"I love you too and miss you so, so, so, soooo much." Taehyung pouts and traces his boyfriend's face on his screen.

"You are cute." Jungkook chuckles and kisses his phone screen.

When Taehyung looks at the time on his phone, he pouts. "I have to get ready for class."

"Have a good day. I'll talk to you later." Jungkook softly smiles and waves.

"I love you. I'll talk to you later!" Taehyung smiles then hangs up.

As Taehyung gets ready for his classes, his phone begins to ring. He quickly picks up his phone in excitement then frowns when he sees an unknown number. So many spam calls. He huffs and blocks the number.

When Taehyung reaches the university, Jimin is waiting for him to go to class together.

"How is practice going for the musical?" Taehyung asks as they walk into class.

"It has been okay. I am nervous since the opening night is only a week away." Jimin answers with a pout.

"I can't wait to see you perform!" Taehyung squeals in excitement while his friend nervously pouts. "I'll go every night to support you."

"You'll get bored if you do that." Jimin laughs and shakes his head at his friend.

"I won't get bored. It will be exciting watching you perform." Taehyung smiles and rests his head on his friend's shoulder.

"I hope so." Jimin happily hums and turns his attention to the professor that is filling in for Jungkook for the rest of the semester.

The professor's monotoned voice quickly lulls the students to sleep. 

"Professor Jeon would want me to focus and take really good notes, but I can't seem to concentrate." Taehyung mutters as their professor's voice drolls on.

"I miss Professor Jeon." Jimin sighs and pats his friend's head that is still resting on his shoulder.

"Me too." Taehyung smiles softly.

Once their classes are over, they pack up their bags and go to Jimin's practice. Taehyung happily finds a spot in the practice studio and begins working on everything that he missed while he was taking care of his boyfriend. For Taehyung, the best way to forget his pain is to throw himself into his work.
