Chapter 11: Gold

"I am so nervous." Taehyung mumbles as his boyfriend fixes his hair for him.

"Why?" Jungkook softly asks and stops what he is doing and looks Taehyung in the eyes.

"What if people don't like it?" Taehyung pouts.

"Why would anyone not like it?" Jungkook asks in disbelief.

"Famous art critics are going to be there tonight, so I am worried that they won't like it. If they hate it, my career is finished before it even starts." Taehyung quietly mutters and leans against his boyfriend for comfort.

"My sweet boyfriend worries too much. I know that the critics will love it, so smile." Jungkook hums and wraps his arms around his nervous boyfriend.

"Tae, if we don't leave now, we won't make it on time." Jin knocks on Taehyung's door letting him know that it is time to leave.

"We are coming." Jungkook responds and leads his pouty boyfriend out of the room.

"Professor Jeon dressed you up very nicely." Jin smiles as he looks at his younger brother.

When the large group arrives at the art exhibit, Taehyung nervously holds onto Jungkook's hand. He knows that people are watching, but he needs Jungkook's comfort at the moment.

"It's in the very middle." Taehyung gasps in shock as he stares at his sculpture that is in the middle of the main room with lights shining on it.

"T-Tae, look." Jimin stutters as he looks at the golden medallion sitting next to the sculpture.

"F-first of the whole show?" Taehyung whispers as he stares at the plaque sitting next to the golden medallion. He nervously turns and looks at the prodigy of the whole art department and sees a silver medallion sitting next to her painting.

"What's the second gold for?" Jin asks as he points to the second gold medallion.

"He also won first in 3D art." Jimin answers as he admires the medals by his friend's sculpture.

"Kim Taehyung, congratulations!" The dean of the art school congratulates a very stunned Taehyung.

"Thank you." Taehyung quickly bows as he still tries to process everything.

"Chaeyeon, are you okay?" Taehyung hears the art prodigy's friends whispering as they try to comfort their shocked friend.

"I'm fine." She responds and glares at Taehyung.

"The hidden talent of the art school has arrived!" A happy professor beams as he walks over to Taehyung. "Oh, Professor Jeon, you came." He grins and pats Jungkook's shoulder.

"Mhm. I came to support my students." Jungkook responds and shakes the other professor's hand.

"You must be pretty proud that your assistant won." The professor chuckles and looks at the stunning sculpture of Jimin. "Both the sculptor and the subject are here. This is perfect!" The professor quickly waves the art critics and reporters over to meet Taehyung.

"I think that your career is set now." Jungkook whispers to his boyfriend before stepping back to allow the critics to talk to Taehyung.

"Kim Taehyung, congratulations on your beautiful sculpture! Is this the subject of your piece?" An art critic asks with a big smile on her face.

"Thank you so much! This is Park Jimin. He is a dancer." Taehyung bows and quickly introduces his friend.

"Your parents must be so proud." The critic smiles and looks at the sculpture.

"Uhm, I don't have parents." Taehyung nervously mumbles when he realizes there are cameras everywhere.

"But his hyungs are very proud of him." Jin quickly steps next to Taehyung and lovingly hugs him.
