Azur Lane: Story of the Blind Battleship Rewritten

Chapter 2: Journey Home

Arkansas was walking down a beach, one he was familiar with. Looking out, he saw many ships anchored around, many he didn't recognize. There were many people around in the area, all talking away. Something however did not feel right. Looking closely to one of the anchored ships, it had CV-31 painted on it's bow. 

A voice calls out, "When will you accept my proposal, you can get power, you can become ME..."

Arkansas interrupts the voice, "I am not interested in power."

The calm beach starts turning darker and darker, multiple clouds forming in the sky and black energy tornadoes start surrounding the entire island. Multiple ships are enveloped by these unknown tornadoes. The voice resumes talking

"You cannot deny me. I will make you META."

Arkansas then simply waves off everything. The tornados, the island, everything is gone, surprising the voice.  

"You are a visitor in my mind, your shows of power to threaten me mean little here" Arkansas said.

The voice replies, "You may have strong mental prowess, but you can't hold off forever.... you will become META."

"Then our conversation is over." Arkansas said coldly.

Arkansas woke up from his short nap on the white plastic lawn chair he had set up on his ship's deck. He listens around and hears the carriers still towing his ship towards the Sakura Empire, along with all the other ships around their's. Each ship makes different sounds as they cut through the water, so he can discern which one is which. 

Arkansas sighs and mumbles to himself, "Whoever that was, their constant budging is getting very annoying. They don't seem to realize or care that I have no interest in power. I need to get some more information about this world."

Arkansas gets up and stretches, afterwards he walks over to the left carrier. He measures up distance, speed, and direction, then jumps over to Zuikaku's carrier. Zuikaku was watching from the deck as Arkansas jumped over, surprising her a bit.

Arkansas starts talking to Zuikaku.

"Hey, I had some questions about these... factions you were talking about earlier, Eagle Union and the Sakura Empire?"

"What would you like to know?"

"I was just wondering about what they are, and if there are any other factions."

Zuikaku nods and responds, "Well, I'm from the Sakura Empire. It's a small island nation with traditions and codes of honor. The Eagle Union is on the other side of the pacific, they're known for their aircraft carriers, destroyers, and massive industrial capacity. We're both part of Azur Lane however."

Arkansas tilts his head a bit sideways and questions, "Azur Lane? What's that?"

"It's a multi-national organization that was made to defeat the Sirens. Along with the Sakura Empire and Eagle Union, the Royal Navy and Iron Blood are major factions. There are some minor factions too like the Dragon Empery, the Sardegna Empire, the North Parliament, and the Iris Orthodoxy."

Arkansas still appears confused a bit. "I only know like 3 of those, and two of those are ones you already told me about. I'm assuming the Royal Navy is the British Royal Navy."
