A figure continued typing away at the laptop, his rigging twisted and corrupted beyond all recognizable measure.

Log #7654. Another timeline has had a happy ending. I continue to give timelines happy endings for me... or them. I do not want them to go through what I have, for that will destroy everything they know. The others question why I keep doing this. But I question why they don't? If they have the power to prevent this from constantly occurring, why don't they?

"Rack, why do you keep doing this?" a figure asked, the named individual turned away from his computer towards the unknown ship.

"Because Enterprise. If we can prevent the same fate from occurring in other timelines, we prevent more of ourselves causing chaos."

"My name isn't Enterprise, Rack." Ash said to the figure.

"Much how my name isn't Rack, Ash." The figure said.

"Regardless, why do you keep doing this?" she asked

The figure looked down and said "If I hadn't introduce them to Siren technology early on, they wouldn't have been able to ignore Alpha's command... they would've shot her... and took everything from us."

The figure slammed his hand on the table "I WILL NOT LET THEM SUFFER AS I HAVE. I SHOT HER.... I.... I.... I can never have her back. So... I make sure none of the others lose her, for she is the only thing keeping them intact."

Ash looked at the figure and said "You know you will keep doing this as long as the Sirens exist...."

"Arkansas META."

He looked up, his face heavily scared, burnt, and twisted. "I know." He says.

"But it's the only thing I can do. The only thing I can do that will protect her and me from suffering." he said.

Ash nods and says "And when will you fight the Sirens, Arkansas META?"

"I have no interest in your war, Ash. It's already taken everything from me once."

"And yet you flutily protect timelines despite never being able to have her again."

"Love makes you do crazy things, Ash. It can raze entire worlds... much like it did mine after I lost her." Arkansas META said as he turned back to Ash.

"Now... leave me be. To my fate. To protect what I can never have." He said as he turned back.

Ash sighed and walked out of the room. She looked over to Helena META and said "That old man is weak." Helena META only said "Don't be like that, Ash. He's very powerful, able to shape or destroy worlds, but he has guilt."

"Guilt is a human emotion." Ash said. Helena META only sighed and said "And that makes him more alive than any of us... even if he uses that guilt to fight an endless battle."
