Chapter 10: Reunion

Hipper, Nagato, and the rest of the ship girls were watching the scene playout. Nagato was silent as she watched Arkansas crying his heart out, something about it made her feel sad. Then a feeling of surprise when she heard what Arkansas gave Eugen.

Every ship girl in the room except for Eugen screamed various forms of what after Arkansas said he given Eugen a ring. So much so that Arkansas' ears winced back from everyone screaming. Eugen looked up at his ears and chuckled, "Didn't know you liked Sakura culture that much." Arkansas only laughed and said "Not my choice. Anyways..."

"We meet again.... fake ti..."

A sudden gust of air was married with the sound of a loud slap and Arkansas was sent flying into the wall. Every ship had a deadpanned reaction as Eugen was blushing and screamed "AFTER ALL THIS TIME, THAT'S THE FIRST THING YOU SAY!?!?"

The ships could hear Arkansas in the wall laughing and with a muffled voice, he said "Worth it." Eugen only sighed and crossed her arms "What happened to you? You were more serious than this last time." Arkansas still muffled just asks "Can I tell you outside the wall?"

Eugen just shakes her head no and responds with no. Arkansas only chuckled and said "Fair enough." He takes a slight breathe and says "I was left behind, stuck, forgotten. Everyone else disappeared somewhere, and I was left behind, all alone. For 70 years. The isolation broke me, the hallucinations taunted me, the nightmares repeated forever, everything replayed over and over and over and over... it was torment."

All the ships were silent hearing what Arkansas was saying. He continued on regardless. "So, in order to protect my mind from not falling apart completely, I broke it apart. Better to save the fragments and then to lose the whole thing. And now, this is my dominant personality. Someone who enjoys trouble and chaos. But someone who also is tormented and tired."

Nagato was processing what she had heard and tears were forming in her eyes. The person she knew, even only once was gone. And in their place was someone she didn't know. Eugen fought through tears and asked "Is the Arkansas I knew... gone?" Arkansas only responded with "Oh Eugen, he's not gone. He's stuck in a wall right now. Help me... not completing that sentence." Arkansas only laughed at his slight joke.

Eugen laughed at it too slightly and pulled Arkansas out of the wall and dusted him off a bit. Arkansas only tilted his head a bit and said "I am still Arkansas, just up here is a little difficult to describe." as he was saying this, he points to his head. "Up here, I share multiple personalities, I share 13 of them to be exact, and we always fight on which movie to listen to. We're the exact same person, but weirdly have different preferences."

Eugen grabbed Arkansas hand and asks teary eyed "Do... you remember everything?" Arkansas took his other hand and put it on top of Eugen's and smiled "I remember everything that happened. The tides of the sea may eat away at my ship and my mind, but it'll never truly make me forget our promise." Both Eugen and Arkansas blushed a bit

"And what sort of promise would that be, dummkopf?" a voice behind Arkansas says. Looking back annoyed, Arkansas asks "And who are you?" Eugen immediately says "That's my sister, Admiral Hipper, or the 180 degree wonder." It took a little bit for Hipper to get what she meant, and once she did, Admiral Hipper screamed "EUGEN!!"

This was met with Arkansas laughing and saying "So, she's flat, like Nagato over there." Arkansas then dodged a book thrown at him from Nagato and both Nagato and Hipper blushed and yells at Arkansas. Arkansas only has a smug look and is enjoying this. Arkansas makes a slight cough and says "Well, I'll probably introduce myself then. I am USS Arkansas, BB-33, of the Wyoming class dreadnoughts. Well, there's only 2 Wyoming class dreadnoughts."
