Chapter 12: Old Nightmares

BOOOMMMM

Warspite opened her eyes and looked up. She saw Arkansas was blown back a couple feet and panting. He looked over to where the other Azur Lane ships were and his radar found Enterprise with her bow deployed. Enterprise screamed "What have you don to Arkansas?" Arkansas only stares before saying "Omaera zen'in koroshiteyaru." (I will kill you all.)

All the ships shudder at what he is saying, especially the Sakura ships. He has never made this tone before or this kind of threat. Arkansas continued smiling as his turret rotated and the catapult on it aligned and fired a plasma bolt off it that rapidly transformed into a SC-1 Seahawk. He grabs 2 more cards from his pocket and throws them, both also transforming into Seahawks. Enterprise jumped back, thinking to herself "Remember him talking about these things, why are they so difficult to fight?"

Arkansas jumped back and turned his attention back to Warspite and prepared to use his guns. Warspite summoned her rigging and both ships starting engaging in an artillery duel. Enterprise was dodging bombs being dropped from Arkansas' float planes as other ships tried shooting down the planes, but they were covered in similar plasma which was melting AA rounds. As Enterprise dodged another 250 lb bomb, she looked up and drew back her bow and fired an arrow into one of the Seahawks.

It exploded in a magnificent red flash and disappeared without a trace. Arkansas looks over a bit annoyed at the carriers and starts laughing some more. He has his 2 Seahawks start flying more erratically and makes their maneuvers less predictable. Arkansas fires another salvo at Warspite which see dodged out of the way. She looked beyond him and saw the floatplanes harassing the fleet. "How can he control the planes and fight me here at the same time?"  Another plasma salvo went by and she jumped out of the way. "Arkansas, stand down. That's an order!!!"

"Meirei wa watashi no fukushu o tomenai." (Orders will not stop my revenge.) He said. Warspite continued dodging but was still confused why Arkansas was speaking in Japanese. Enterprise fired another arrow at the Seahawk which dodged the shot and started flying towards Enterprise in a dive. She looks over to Zuikaku and says "What is that plane doing?" Zuikaku looks scared and screams "THEY'RE KAMIKAZES." Enterprise looks surprised and jumps out of the way of the crashing Seahawk. Zuikaku looks up and sees the final one coming in guns blazing. 

Zuikaku used her katana and deflected multiple rounds. She jumped to the left as the final Seahawk made its plunge into the sea. Both carriers turn their attention to Arkansas who is still fighting Warspite and other Azur Lane ships. They watch as one of his turrets rotate towards them and focuses on them, while the other focuses on Warspite.

Many ships were dodging incoming plasma fire as Arkansas was looking around and clapping his hands. It was like a game to him, he pulled out his secondary pistol and kept firing what he had left. Enterprise took a deep breath and pulled back her bow aiming directly down the barrel of the turret. She released the arrow and it set off the round within it and caused the entire turret to blow out of it's barbette.

Arkansas fell back and clutched his arm, obviously injured, but even more infuriated and started shifting towards Enterprise. Warspite took advantage of this and fired a round into the last remaining turret, destroying it. Arkansas continued firing with his pistol until it had no more ammo.
