Solcia POV
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Soon after falling asleep, I woke up again. I sat up and looked at the time. It was 2:00 a.m.
"Had a bad dream?" Mason asked. I forgot he was here and jumped a little when he said that.
"No, I just felt like waking up. I'll try to go back to sleep." I told him, laying back down. He didn't question me again, but rather just went on to humming the nameless song he always hums.
I went in my usual position, and nothing. No sleep came. I stayed there for about 10 more minutes, and if anything, I felt more awake. I tried everything from taking the blanket on, off, one leg out, half covered by the blanket, my feet sticking out, but I still couldn't sleep. I layed on my back with the blanket off and gave a sigh of defeat. Why did I feel so awake?
"I can't sleep." I officially declared out loud. Mason chuckled at that.
"Really? I thought you were sound asleep!" Mason sarcastically responded. I laughed a little, because he was right. There was no way you would have thought I was sleeping.
"Is it to hot or to cold?" Mason asked.
"No, it's fine."
"Are you hungry? Do you want to drink something?"
"No thank you, I'm not hungry or thirsty."
"Then what's keeping you up?"
"I don't know, but I don't feel tired at all." I told him. He looked confused, and so was I. I loved to sleep, so why can't I sleep now?
"I'm going to get up and do something I guess." I said, getting up.
That was a mistake. As soon as I got up, I could feel a slightly immense pain in my back, starting at the top inner edge of my shoulder blades all the way to the bottom of my back. It wasn't one line of pain, but rather two lines of pain, one at my left shoulder blade inner edge going down, and one at my right shoulder blade inner edge, going down. They were both about one inch wide. I wouldn't say the pain was agonizing or excruciating, but it did hurt. Mason was already next to me, but seemed to come closer, ready to catch me in case I fell.
"Are you okay?" He asked worriedly.
"Yes, I'm fine. It's nothing." I told him. The pain was starting to subdue, so I'm sure sooner or later in would be gone.
"Are you sure? Do you want some pain medicine?" Mason asked. He seemed very worried, but why?
"No, I'm good. It was only for a split second. I'm fine, really." I tried to convince him. The pain was still there, but it was much more settle. So settle that I barely noticed it, but I'm only staying in one spot right now. I walked around the room to see if my back word started hurting, and the pain only slightly came back if I stretched my back muscles, so I should be fine.
"See, I'm fine." I said again, trying to convince Mason.
"Okay, but please be careful." Was all he said. I went down the stair and saw everybody in the living room. Jamel and Alicia were reading, Hannah looking at a fashion magazine, and Victor practicing his video games with the TV on mute.
"Good morning!" Victor said cheerfully.
"Good morning." I responded to everybody.
"I know they say early bird gets the worm, but you are a little late for that. However, for humans/creatures that need to sleep, you are awake very early, so do you want to do that rematch?" Victor questioned. That was why he was so cheerful!
"Sure, but only one. If I win, then no more rematches for a while, okay?" I asked Victor.
"How long is a while?" Victor asked.
