The little boys colored pictures or looked outside the window to my room. Matthew was the one looking out the window and Bobby was the one who colored. Annabeth Just read books. Didn't even stare at me for a second. I sat on still on my desk.

"Uh..so what are you doing?" I asked stupidly.

"I'm reading," she replies. "Oh right..right..so um..Do you like anything?-" again, not knowing how to start a conversation. She stops reading. Secondly, looks up but then down at the book again. "I like Architecture," she Saids. Though not really sounding like she wanted to ramble about it. "Great", I thought, "Not only are my friends in the underworld probably getting tortured. I'm getting tortured up here with a ridiculous dress and wise girl in my house."

"...So wise girl."

"I beg your pardon?" She looks at me from the book. Oh no my dumb mouth slipped. "We haven't even talked for 2 minutes and Already you're calling me names? Seriously?" She frowns. "No no!" I say "I'm not making fun of you! I was just-"

Annabeth began to laugh. "Eesh You're too serious about everything. I should be the one apologizing. Seriously Nancy, you're fine. Though I do take what you say into challenge. If you want to bet.." I gulp.

"No, no, there isn't anything to bet on." Annabeth Shrugs, "Whatever. Let's just keep things silent"

"Fine by me" I say, crossing my arms. "Ugh.." she rolls her eyes. So much for good impressions. I sigh. "hey, look- How about we-"

"Hold that thought-" she puts her finger near her lip.

"boom! Heck yeah!" She cheers even though she isn't playing a video game, "finished and done" she Lifts up. Getting up from my bed to leave "hey dad! Can I go to the backyard?" She calls out. I begin to freak. "Sure thing honey! Don't forget your friend!" He yells back.

"Actually!" I block her away. Looking back to see if Grover is around. He saw me and Hid in the Bushes again. "I wanted to show you something else!" I quickly changed the Subject. Annabeth raises her eyebrows. "Ok..what?"

"I" then I saw something creeping along my window near Annabeth.. "Uh.." I say. I blink. The creepy thing was gone. "Let's just close the blinds and Play.. Monopoly?"

I go over to the window and lock it and close the blinds. "Uh..you said you wanted to show me something"

"Yes." I say "my monopoly game.."

She frowns, "No that's boring. I wanna go outside now" She demanded. Eesh. " ok. Uh.." I peeked through the backyard window. It looked fine. "Maybe we can go to the park?" I swallowed.

"You wanna take me to the park?" Annabeth smirked. "What, you like playing tag?" She teased me. I Cross my arms, "Yea! Fine. Will play tag when we get there but I need to ask My dad first. You should Ask your mom a-"

"Step mom"

"Wha-"

"Nothing." She shrugged. Then she walked past me. "Hey Dad! I'm going with Nancy to the park! " (Strange how she didn't call her Step-Mom).

"Honey! Be careful! Is it far?" He calls back

"No I don't think so!" She shouts, then looks sternly at me. "It's not far right?" I shake my head "Good"

"Bye Dad!" Annabeth called again, "Bye Dad!" I shout. Then Annabeth and I leave the crazy joint of a house full of boring adults (though at times I wonder if they party when The kids are away).

We awkwardly Walk near each other, saying no conversation. I mean it just happens when your parents decide to have a meeting and Bring you from Virginia to Manhattan. Saying "Hey there is a kid your age! You two should be best friends". It just happens. "Uhh..so how's life back in Virgina?"

"Pff" Annabeth Replies, "Nothing great, really. Dad tried getting a Job as a history professor in a Military school called Westpoint. Pfft, didn't get it. Then I have my Cousin in Boston who I wish I can see more. That's pretty much the only good thing."

"Nice, Nice." I nod my head.. "I mean not the failing part as much. But you said that your Dad's wife is your step mom?" I say. Not realizing I could potentially be getting myself beaten up. I mean, if I want to be completely honest..If someone asked me about my dad being single, I would've beaten a kid up (Don't you dare Jackson).

"It's whatever, really." She put her hands in her coat. " I never met my real mom. And I don't care to, she wasn't there for me obviously. So I see no reason to be worried about anything. My dad's married. And I want my Dad to be happy. So I don't care. " I look down thinking, Grover and Chiron said I'm a Halfblood or something..could that mean a God is my other parent?...Should I care unlike Annabeth?

"Pff" I kick a rock, "I hear y'a. My Dad Told me I'm "fully" his. But I never knew if I had a mom or was adopted"

"Did you look for papers or Take DNA test?" She asked unsympathetically. I shake my head "No. I tried asking him to do it with me a couple of times but.. he always refused.." I lied. Truth be told we actually tried, but they never worked. So he just didn't bother to do so anymore when I still wanted to know. It use to make me upset at times but I now understood it's because I have Blood of the Gods.

"Ha. Really has resentment" Annabeth says as she grabs a twig and breaks it. We make it to the park and Annabeth taps me, "Hey I'm gonna do a solo Gog over there. Catch up with you later" she tells me. I go over to a skating area and I see Jackson and Grover. Where did they come from? I have no idea.

"Oh great." Percy declares as he comes skating over, glaring then chuckles, "You look lovely. Care to skate in that?" I scowl, "Whatever Jackson, you and Underwood Go on and get -" Grover looks at me saying "You promised" I swallow and shake my head. "I mean- Thanks my Dad picked the dress for me." Percy lifts up his Skateboard, still seeming confused yet Genuine too, "Good. I can tell he cares for you. Hope you're wearing tights." He grins at me and Pats me on the back, basically saying "Nancy you look super strange in that dress but I'm giving you credit" I wanted to punch him so badly. "Well, have fun when you're -"

"-Oh!" he looked behind me, "Whose that?" I looked back and Saw Annabeth running over. "That's uh. That's Annabeth" I say. "She's the Kid of the Guy who works with my Dad"

"What-" Percy replies "Don't ask." I say. "Nancy! I want to go home now." She tells me as if I carry her on a Throne. She looks over at Grover and Percy "Oh hey" she Waves. Grover smiles And says hi. Percy just gives a shy look on his face. Since the loser isn't good at talking to any girls. "Uh, Hi" He told her. "Nancy, do you know these two?" Annabeth looked at me

"Uh-"

"Yes! She does!" Percy Smiles. He eyed me as if saying, "Don't ruin this". He gets a shy look again, "I-Im Percy." He introduced himself. "Hey.." she tried to wave. This was super awkward for me. But thank goodness it was gonna end because at that moment I think I see something in the trees and Grover looks at me, knowing I sensed it. "Um. I'm Grover!" he shares, obviously trying to change the subject. "Cool." She shrugs. Percy takes out a bag from his pocket "W-we were gonna, ah man!" he looks at his Bag "Stupid Ground beef"

"Is that Ground beef Jerky?" I say. "It was. Eck." He puts it in the trash nearby. "Anyway, you girls wanna skate with us?" He asked. Though I looked again and this time I definitely saw a figure. Groover peaks over too. And mouths to me "go now.."

I begin to panic, "Uh! Nope. Sorry jackson!" I say as I grab Annabeth "hey-"

"Yea Annie and I have to go or we're gonna be late. My Dad is Uh- making Dinner For our parents." I say. Annabeth Looks At me "Since when-" I yank her to walk with me, "You definitely should leave too! Like right now! Bye!" I call back And begin to speed walk. "Great" I hear Percy say, "She takes our Lunch and now she takes the cute new girl".
