"AUNTYYYY RAEE" ava squealed dropping her luggage and jumping into my sisters arms.
"ava" i laughed picking up her case and walking the small distance to them both.
"how are you pretty girl? you've gotten so big!!" raelyn gasped.
"i'm a big girl!" ava smiled happily.
"yes you are" she smiled placing ava down.
"come here sissy" she smiled pulling me into a hug.
i smiled "hi rae".
"how have you been?" she asked.
i knew what she was referring to.
"i'm alright" i smiled looking down at ava.
she got the hint that i didn't want to talk about how i felt around ava so she spoke up before she was cut off.
"mama i finished in the bathroom" jahmir said.
jahmir was raelyn's son, my nephew.
"no way! look how big you've gotten" i gasped in astonishment.
he laughed "i'm a big lil nigga".
"oh" i said in shock.
"watch your mouth jah!" raelyn snapped "where you pick that up from?".
"daddy".
she shook her head "of course...with his dead beat ass" she added mumbling the last part.
i chuckled lowly and so did she "men ain't shit".
"they really aren't" i agreed watching as ava and jahmir began to know eachother again.
they were the bestest of friends aswell as cousins lol.
"come lemme take y'all to mine. me and you got some catching up to do".
"definitely".
"can't believe you went and got pregnant on me sis" she mumbled.
i laughed "girl i'll disclose all info when we get to yours".
"you better!".
"come on babies. let's go" i said picking up ava as we walked to the exit of the airport.

the drive back to hers was full of conversation. we were all catching up. thankfully the conversation knocked both ava and jahmir out.
me and rae had put them both to sleep, given them good night kisses and checked there were no monsters under their beds before we were able to go downstairs and chill.
she passed me some hot chocolate as we sat down on the couch.
"it's cold here in montreal".
"very cold. i think my toes have frozen".
she laughed "mine too!".
"it'll warm up though".
"hopefully snow is due next week".
"foreal?" i asked happily.
she laughed "you big baby".
"i LOVE snow rae" i laughed.
"i can tell. so do the kids i bet".
