Softly, Hyunjin hummed the tune of his favourite song — one he actually wrote himself — and swayed from leg to leg with the younger boy in his arms. Their hands were tangled together as the tune of "love untold" escaped his lips.

With a light smile on his face Hyunjin broke the silence, "you know, it's crazy how your hands are as warm as my tears" he muttered out. Jisung stopped his movements and took a moment to look his almost lover in the eyes.

He wiped the hot tears off of his cheeks, caressing his features in the process. "Oh Jinnie.. you need to let go soon." He sweetly said, his voice laced with a hint of sadness as he realised the older still didn't move on.

He was truly living in the past.

The shorter shifted uncomfortably as he noticed the stares of the strangers — maybe he had already left this place for good, but his soul still carried his anxiety with him. It was true, the other's couldn't see him, but something still somehow made him nervous. Crowded places just weren't his thing.

"If only I could go back in time." Hyunjin spoke up again, ignoring the younger's statement as best he could, "I want to see your smile and hear your voice. I want to hug you close and run my hands through your hair.." He softly tangled his finger's in the brown strands of the other, pulling him closer and nuzzling his head into his neck.

"Jinnie.." Jisung's voice was quiet as he wrapped his arms around the taller's waist. "You really need to move on." "I just wish I could go back in time and see what you were actually like. I wonder what kind of person you were, on the daily. I- I just can't seem to let you go."

Hyunjin let the tears cover his cheeks again, not quieting the sniffles he let out as he buried himself deeper in the dead boys shoulder. Oh how he wished to hug him close, the real him not just his imagination.

It was scary how accurate his imagination can be, but for all he knows Jisung could've been a complete different person. He was always smiley and bubbly, his personality was made of gold — but that was only what Hyunjin saw.

The older boy interacted with his crush once or twice maximum, they weren't even friends back in the day. Though that way, Hyunjin remembered every single word they've exchanged.

Maybe it were only a few, but god it was scary how much he wanted to talk to him for days on end and squish his cheeks after he cracked a (bad) joke and made him (fake) laugh.

Hyunjin stared in awe as he saw a short boy walk through the door of the classroom. He immediately settled his eyes on him and couldn't take him off, gosh his fluffy brown hair bouncing up and down as he walked looked adorable.

"Okay everyone, quiet down. We have a new student that just transferred here from Malaysia, please welcome him with open arms." She paused and looked at the boy standing beside her, "Jisung, introduce yourself."

The boy nodded while fiddling with his fingers, he nervously looked around the room and after taking a deep breath, spoke up. "Hello, my name's Han Jisung, you can call me whatever. Please take care of me."

The teacher shorty looked at him with a "that's it?"-look and then told him to choose a seat. I quickly looked to my sides, only to find both of them being taken by random girls that were staring at me rather than at the teacher.

I sighed and listened to the professor as she started the lesson, yet I couldn't help but glance at the new boy every few minutes. Cute.

The blonde never got around to talk with the brunette, his friends always stealing him away before he could even approach or girls swarming around him — just when would they understand that he's gay and not interested in them?

"Now Hyung, whaddya think of the new boy?" He should've expected his friends to question him as soon as he spotted Jisung sitting down the table next to them.

"What'd you mean? He's cute." Hyunjin simply answered, glancing at the boy again when someone covered the beautiful view. "Yah Yongbok-ah!" Minho had approached the table and stopped in front of the blonde, staring at the youngest of the friend group, "why didn't you tell me you're here already? I searched the whole school for you!" "Sorry~"

The couple bickered as Hyunjin and Changbin simply stayed sat and ate their food, ignoring the familiar scene around them. "Ah Hyung, have you talked to him yet?" "Jisung?" The blonde nodded his head. "We exchanged like three words and then the teacher called him over, he seemed pretty anxious."

Hyunjin got lost inside his head as he continuously stared at the table next to him — not knowing that he was making the boy uncomfortable. "Hmm, I want to talk to him. I'm sure he'd be a good extend to our friend group." He turned back, looking the older in the eyes. "Yeah, he seems lovely."

"H-Hyunjin, was it?" The blonde spun around on his feet as he heard a voice call him, who- Jisung. "Yeah, Jisung, right?" Han nodded his head, looking around the halls restlessly.

"Mr. Lee told me to meet him next to the principal's office, c-could you tell me where it is? I'm still quite lost.." He rambled on, not looking the older in the eyes once. "Sure thing, just down the corridor of the main entrance is a sign saying "principal" just go there and you should already see Mr. Lee."

Jisung shyly nodded his head, bowed and speed walked away, the older dreamily followed his figure, seeing him turn right at the end of the hall instead of left. He shock his head and turned around again, seeing the cute boy run in the right direction.

Their first conversation was that and nothing more, Hyunjin was a bit sad about how anxious the younger got but over the days he started smiling more than usual — seeing the boy make friends and laughing in class.

Hyunjin wanted to be friends with the brunette too, but it just didn't seem to be working. If the universe wanted the two to meet, it wouldn't have let him die after they started a relationship.

Walking home after school, the blonde saw a familiar silhouette standing in front of a crosswalk — looking left and right. With a couple quick steps Hyunjin walked over and threw his arm around Jisung's shoulder. "Hi! Where you heading?"

A light blush covered the brunette's cheeks as he looked up with doe eyes. "Just home, why?" Hyunjin smiled sweetly, "can I tag along?"

The next days Jisung didn't show up at school, neither of the students or teachers knew what happened — if the boy was simply sick or skipping school — and the tall boy was starting to get worried. Hyunjin knew not to be over dramatic, but something told him that the situation was a lot worse than it seemed.

"Go back, go back, go back, go back.." The teenager repeatedly mumbled to himself, he wants to go back in time, "for you, for you, for you." so he can spend time with the younger. Without his voice glitching every now and then and the warmth of his body leaving at an instance.

"I could save every second of my life." He wants to relive what he's experienced and save every second he could've spend with the brunette. He wants to live life to its fullest, with him.

Hyunjin felt the arms that had wrapped around him so nicely fading away, the little bit of warmth he managed to create leaving his body. Sniffles filled the alley he was in, suddenly no one around to help him calm down.

He felt helpless as he sat down on the cold concrete floor, hugging his legs close instead of what should've been Jisung.

That day he walked home alone.

The night was quiet — and so was his lover.
