Jisung let his hand circle the older's waist, rubbing his hips with the tip of his fingers every now and then. The music playing in the background kept the two from getting awkward, the silence filled with the soft tune of "love untold" — a song that the older of them composed (with the help of a friend) and sang.

"You know, Jinnie Hyung," the younger began, a thought crossing his mind, "I've always wondered what inspired you to write this song." He pulled Hyunjin closer and buried his head in the crook of his neck, breathing in the soft scent of roses.

The taller smiled softly — about to speak up — when Jisung quickly interrupted. "You don't have to tell me if you don't want to." "I don't mind."

There was this sweet tone in his voice, a reassuring tone that made Jisung fell so comfortable in his arms. "Okay" he softly mumbled, swaying their bodies. Hyunjin ruffled the younger's hair before letting his hands rest behind his neck — in the air.

"Do you remember almost getting into that car accident? Back in high school." He hummed, thinking a bit and answered, yes, he did remember. He still had nightmares about it till this day, how could he forget?

Walking home after school, the blonde saw a familiar silhouette standing in front of a crosswalk — looking left and right. With a couple quick steps Hyunjin walked over and threw his arm around Jisung's shoulder. "Hi! Where you heading?"

A light blush covered the brunette's cheeks as he looked up with doe eyes. "Just home, why?" Hyunjin smiled sweetly, "can I tag along?"

"S-sure" the boy stuttered out, crossing the street together with the older — who had a soft smile on his face. "Sweet."

In silence, the two walked to Jisung's house. Rather than talking the two observed their soundings, the honking of cars every now and then, the children screaming on a random playground — chasing each other — and the conversations of the people around, though they definitely weren't eavesdrop.

"Just over there." The younger said, pointing at an apartment complex on the other side of the road, "thanks for walking me, Hyung." Jisung smiled sweetly, beaming up at the taller and making his stomach erupt in butterflies.

Trying to calm down, Hyunjin sighed lightly before answering, "you're welcome." The two waved each other goodbye and went their ways, but the older stopped mid-track. There was this voice in the back of his mind telling him to walk Jisung home, all the way.

Jisung watched the older walk away, his tummy tingling with a weird sensation. He's really pretty, he simply thought to himself and turned around the same time Hyunjin did.

He walked a few steps forward and stopped at a traffic light again, the light was a bright red yet there were no cars around. Jisung shrugged his shoulders and stepped onto the street to cross the road, a mistake that would've cost his life — if Hyunjin didn't grab him by his shirt.

Hyunjin yanked him backward, causing the brunette to fall straight into his chest. The taller boy securely wrapped his arms around Jisung, as the two watched a car speed by — their hair flying from the wind.

A deep breath escaped both of their lips, their bodies relaxing after the almost crash of the boy and the cement grey Hyundai Elantra. (a/n: y'all remember who's fav colour cement grey was? hint hint: ateez.)

A tear tickled Hyunjin's cheek as it rolled down his face, leaving a warm trail that quickly turned cold from the freezing breeze. "Sometimes I just- wonder what I would be like, if you weren't here anymore. I wonder where I'd be without you."

With a sad smile he planted a kiss on Jisung's neck, the feeling of his body so close driving him insane. He loved hearing his voice, seeing his smile and hugging him close — running his hand through his hair.

"I wonder what kind of person I'd be-" "That doesn't matter, it's a what if. It didn't happen and I'm here, with you, and will always be."

The sun set as the two continued swaying to the music in the outskirts of town, the people around slowly not minding the two anymore.

Hyunjin got on his tiptoes — making himself even taller — and looked down at the other, who had looked up at the movement. "So cute!" He cooed, removing his hands — and arms — from his shoulders, squeezing his cheeks instead.

All he got in reply was a whine, as the song slowly got to an end. "We should head back, walk me home?" "Of course babe." So the two boyfriends walked to the younger's house, as the sky got painted a dark blue, lights slowly popping up and illuminating the city with light.

The two swayed their intertwined hands in the air, a light breeze picking up again. "Has it been this cold the whole time?" Jisung asked, getting goosebumps from the fresh air. "You think it's cold?"

Taking note of his statement, Hyunjin let go of his hand and got out his jacket — that he had kept in his school bag — and laid it on his shoulders. He got in front of the younger and watched him  slide his arms though the sleeves, the blonde then sipped up the jacket and tapped his cheek. "I think I deserve a kiss."

Jisung chuckled lowly and leaned in to give his boyfriend a peck on the side of his face, making sure to softly hold his chin with his hand. "Your hands are warm." Hyunjin smiled softly, looking down at the brunette. "Yours are cold."

Without another word Jisung tangled their fingers together and started walking again, enjoying Hyunjin's scent that lingered on the puffy jacket.

As the night rolled in the two boys were still out, the small steps they took and all the stops they made didn't help them at all — it only slowed them down.

The night sky was quiet and so were the two lover.

That day — or should I say night — the two lovebirds walked home, admiring the stars high above while holding hands. Neither of them would've thought that in the next ten minutes everything would turn black. Pitch black.
