"Wow, I really can't believe that guy. What a complete idiot. But wow Foster! I didn't know the great amount of strength you possessed!" Keefe said with raised eyebrows. He must be surprised, she thought with amusement.
"Yeah, you'd better not mess with me." She teased, flexing what little amount of muscle she actually had.
"I wouldn't dare." Keefe said, putting on a face of intimidation.
They both laughed.
Keefe suddenly halted and grabbed her hands.
"Wh.."
"Are you really okay? I feel so stupid for.. This whole thing. If I hadn't tried to meet with you, this whole thing wouldn't have-"
"Actually." She cut him off, waiting until his eyes met hers. "I'm glad this happened. I'd rather not spend more time with a lying jerk like him, so in a way you've saved me from this relationship. Don't blame yourself, okay?"
Keefe nodded, his face for once solemn.
Sophie glanced down at their joined hands, and Keefe quickly let go.
There was a silence between them. "Well.." Sophie coughed.
"Oh come on, Foster. We can't let this day end on such a sad note." Keefe's eyes turned sparkly. "How about we go and have some real fun, away from that lying, cheating ex boyfriend of yours?"
Sophie was secretly sort of hoping he would say something like that.
"If that's okay with you of course.." Keefe said.
"Let's go!" Sophie said with confidence.
"Let's take my car, shall we?" He suggested.
"Sure." She agreed.
Some people might be apprehensive about getting into a car with somebody they met not too long ago, but after all they've been through, Sophie strangely trusted Keefe.
And she really wanted to get far away from the café right now.
(Authors note: this is a given, but obviously don't hop in a car with a man you just met lol. For the sake of the story, though;)
Sophie, assuming Keefe's car was further down the row, kept walking, not realizing Keefe had already stopped.
"My car's actually right here." He said with a smirk.
Her jaw dropped.
It was a bright blue Lamborghini.
"Why am I even surprised at this point?" She sighed as he held open the passenger door for her.
Keefe hopped in, putting down the roof. It turns out it was also a convertible.
"What type of music do you listen to?" He asked her, scrolling on Spotify. She was trying to pay attention, but was still amazed at all the various luxuries of his car. Heated and cooling seats that even had a massaging setting- a large screen in the middle with numerous apps that did who-knows-what, comfortable leather seats.. She'd never even stepped close to something this nice.
"Ah- right." She took the phone from him and turned on her playlist.
Deadly heavy metal started screaming in the car.
Keefe burst out laughing and Sophie's face got red as she fumbled with the phone. "Wrong one! Sorry."
"It's alright, although I didn't know you had such.. Angry taste in music." He said through giggles.
"You can pick the playlist." She coughed, handing him the phone with obvious embarrassment still on her face. His lips curved upwards and he nodded politely.

(Song playing: Brown Eyed Girl by Van Morrison)
:)
Keefe started the car. Sophie winced from the sunlight, but he gave her his sunglasses. She looked at him gratefully, but her eyes lingered on him for just a moment. His blonde hair was disheveled and messy, flapping carelessly in the breeze. His ice blue eyes were shining like orbs or gems, and the sunlight emerging from the clouds just made them brighter. He wore a smile on his face, and at that moment she felt as if though he might truly be somebody special. Special to her? Maybe. For now, she was just happy to escape with him from the rest of the world for a moment, so she let the music fill her ears as they drove on the busy highways.
Keefe started singing along, his hand lingering on the steering wheel. She wondered where they might be headed, but she didn't ask him.
"You're my brown eyed girl 🎵"
"Are you hungry?" Keefe asked, turning his turning signal on.
"Starving." She admitted with a nod.
"Great, me too. There's this restaurant in town I haven't tried yet, shall we?"
"Sure, we can try it. What kind of food do they have there?" She asked him, looking out her window.
"I believe it's a pub of some sort, so probably American food?"
"Sounds good to me." She rarely ate at restaurants (not that she minded, Edaline was as always, an amazing chef.) But it was exciting to eat out for once. Especially with a friend.
Keefe opened her door for her. Is this what having a boyfriend actually feels like? Ryan never opened doors for her or payed close attention to her. He never noticed when she changed something about her hair or makeup, or when she needed sunglasses.
Not that Keefe was her boyfriend or anything. But.. She definitely wished more guys were like him.
They entered the pub, and honestly, it looked really nice.
However, she wasn't expecting to see a familiar face when she walked in.
The teal eyed wonder could be spotted from miles away. He was the brother of one of her best friends, Biana. He was sitting sideways in a bar stool, saying something or other to the bartender.
"Fitz!" She said, startled when she heard another voice say his name. She looked at Keefe in surprise, and simultaneously he looked at her.
"You know Fitz?" She asked.
"You know him?" He responded incredulously.
Fitz turned around in his bar stool, surprised to see both of them.
"Sophie- Keefe! You're both here.. Together?" His eyebrows went up as he set down his drink. He patted both of the stools next to him.
"Long story short..."

Keefe explained the story to Fitz, first about them being coworkers and then about the Ryan situation. (In which she received sympathetic, worried and angry looks from both boys, making her tug at an eyelash.)
"Wow, I can't believe this. I mean this is awesome, both of my closest friends know each other." Fitz said with a broad smile, ruffling Keefe's hair and giving Sophie a pat on the shoulder.
Sophie had known Fitz since elementary, and she used to have a crush on him in high school. They started talking less after they graduated, but they still saw each other occasionally, like when she went to Biana's house and etc. He's changed a lot since high school, though. He's still nice, of course, but he's often partying or busy. His anger issues have also gotten a bit worse.
Sophie listened to Fitz and Keefe talk, and distractedly took a smaller cup. The drink was clear like the water she was drinking previously, but it tasted nothing like water. And she accidentally swallowed the whole thing.
