Is this what falling in love feels like?

Sophie Foster stormed to her room, avoiding, or rather hardly noticing any greetings from Grady as she slammed her door shut and leaned against it, breathing heavily. What had gotten into her? She had scripted the whole thing out in her mind. She was only supposed to say something like, "I like you back," but her stupid heart got in the way and...

She kissed him.

She could still sharply recall the way his soft lips felt on her own, and..

ARRRGHHH!!!

But besides the part of her that wanted to crawl in a hole and reconsider her life decisions, she was excited to see what the future would mean for them. Sure. She had to deal with his overbearing parents and who knows what else, but she was willing to bear it. For him.

Of course, he would have his fair share of challenges while dating her as well. Dating. The word sounded weird now.
Grady wasn't exactly the type to easily welcome a new boyfriend. And she had a feeling Keefe would definitely be no exception.

She knew her mind was moving too fast, and too far ahead, but she couldn't help but think of the future.

Keefe, on the other hand..

Keefe had already redone his hair about fifty bajillion times before he decided to call it quits and stick with his trademark style, which of course, took him about another hour to fix since even a strand of hair out of place was unacceptable, and would clearly ruin his perfection.

She inevitably fell for him, it was hard not to. He inspected himself in the mirror and smiled with smug satisfaction. Perfect. Nothing could ruin this perfect date, he thought as he walked out of the bathroom, and they were going to love each other forever and live happily ever after and..

"Hey Keefe, why are you dancing with a hairbrush in your hand? You look ridiculous. Also, what's the occasion?" Keefe whipped around to see Tam making himself right at home, lounging on his couch, eyeing him up and down. It looks like someone could ruin this perfect date. By his mere, annoying presence.

"Okay, first of all I told you not to touch anything in my room," Keefe said, glaring at Tam, "and second of all, for your information, I have a date. Also, WHY ARE YOU HERE?!"

"A date? You mean girls actually like you? HA!.." Tam rested his arm on the couch.

"Just answer my question, bangs boy." Keefe demanded.

"Well our ever loving parents decided to band together and start a new business. Oh, and they want us to run it, I guess. Something about learning how to be responsible or something. So exciting.." Tam sighed.

Tam and Keefe's parents often partnered together for new business schemes and such, but they'd never tried something this ridiculous before.

"No way." Keefe said with an incredulous laugh. Of all things..
"First of all, I did not consent to that. Second of all, even if I did run a business you're the last person I would want to do it with."

"Looks like we can agree on something." Tam said. "But hey, my begging wouldn't work, so you can try your best but I doubt they'll hear you out."

Keefe was about to leave when Tam jumped off the couch and ruffled his hair.

For a prolonged amount of time.

"HEY!!!!! BANGS BOY!! I'll kill you for that! Do you know how long I spent?!.."

"Have fun on your date." Tam said, poorly concealing an amused look at Keefe's rage. He just loved to make things worse when they were already bad.

Keefe ran downstairs to see the songs and his parents chatting over a bland cup of tea.

"I'm sorry to ruin this fun little chat, but can you guys maybe not ruin our lives against our will?" Keefe snatched his father's cup of tea and quickly gulped it down. Neither the songs nor Sencen looked impressed by his sudden entrance and attitude. They were both used to it.

"Keefe, we'll talk about this later." Lady Gisela said calmly, eyeing her son.

"No, I think we can talk about this now." Keefe said, plopping himself down on the couch. "Listen, I don't want to go forward with this business or whatever. I want to be an artist. I'm fed up with you guys trying to get in the way of what I want, so I don't really care if you support me or not. But you can't force me into this." Keefe slammed down the tea cup and smiled at Cassius and Gisela. "Got it?"

"We'll discuss this later." Cassius sneered, glaring at his son with stony eyes. Keefe glared back.

"Ooh, defiance." Tam whispered from somewhere behind them.

"Don't you have somewhere to be, son?" Cassius asked, pressing his hand hard on Keefe's shoulder and making him wince.

"Yes, I do, in fact. I'll see you later, father."
