Karthik's POV:
13 days later.....
The coldness from her is glaciating my heart these days. The small whispers of my Satan on that day have broken us apart. An urge to scream, a desire to apologise is so strong yet the coward in me is backing off from approaching her. Each time I look at her, a look of innocence mixed with hurt blazes my heart.
My Queen is so hurt, seeing her all gloomy is urging me to pull her away from this cruel world, these monsters and secure her in my embrace. I may be a rogue, but I love her, to the extent that I hurt her sometimes to take care of her.
" Diya, my Queen?" I called her gently settling her small baby hair away from her cheeks. A soft sound left her mouth and her eyes fluttered open. She took her time to come back to her senses and eventually settled her eyes on my face.
" Good morning my wife." I said as softly as possible. That male urge to feel her skin under my lips! Urghhh. I pecked her cheek gently and pulled her duvet down. Her eyes are fixed on me, not emotion is being displayed in her eyes, cold and emotionless as every day.
" What's the matter, my Queen?" I asked her gently and her eyes pooled with tears.
" I'm sorry Diya. I didn't mean to yell at you. I was so consumed by my ego that I side-kicked your talks. I was angry, I was jealous and I don't know why? Please, I'm sorry Diya. Forgive me." I whispered the last few words holding her hand.
" I don't like this blind Prince Karthik." She whispered.
" I don't like how you are dealing with these things, you are just taking everything for granted. I can feel it." She said and I frowned. What am I taking for granted?
" And please, just give me some space, I'll talk back to you once I'm normal. Excuse me." She said getting down from the bed and walking towards the balcony. She left leaving my heart shattered.
I heard her speaking to her assistant saying she has somewhere to go. This is a very good chance to bring her back.
I waited for her at the breakfast table and as usual, she slayed her look. She looks gorgeous in her bottle green jeans and a white t-shirt.
" Looks like the Queen is forgetting her manners. Just look at her clothes." My stepmom commented.
" I don't think, one's Queenly characteristics come with clothes. It's how she can carry it, may it be her clothes, or persona or her attitude or HERSELF. And no one needs to teach their Queen what she should wear and how she should behave. I would love it if they mind their own business and do what they have come here for." I spoke and Sahasra looked annoyed while Mrs. Aurora looks red and baffled.
I looked at my wife and she had a small smirk on her lips. I followed her gaze and it is directed towards Mr. Aurora. It gives me a serene feeling seeing my so-called father all riled up. Virana tried hard to control her laugh but ended up laughing. I coughed to cover her while my Queen and she chugged the water to cover their expressions.
"Where are you going?" I asked as soon as the Queen started taking the car.
" To my office?" She said or rather questioned.
" In this attire?" I asked raising my eyebrow and directing her a small smile.
" That's my office and no one would ask even if I go naked." She said and my face warmed up in anger.
" Watch your tongue, Queen." I said vehemently.
I have to appreciate her guts. She looked directly into my eyes and smirked before her car zoomed away. I kept looking at her car until it disappeared deep into the perspective point.
