Diya's eyes turned red with humiliation. Her doe eyes held the liquid of agony and her character assassination.
She looked at her husband, the king with a smile which spoke how he let her down.

" Good evening!" Karthik greeted his wife who was near the huge window that was facing the lush green garden. She visibly stiffened as soon as she heard his voice. Karthik took a shaky breath and took a step forward after seeing his wife's nonchalant behaviour.
He placed his hand on her shoulder and she immediately flinched at his touch. He felt hurt and as the days passed all he was feeling was losing hope in their relationship.
" Hey, easy Angel." Karthik said with a sad smile and she gave him a side-eye.
" Diya...." Karthik called her slowly and she hummed. Karthik again wants to remind her of this thing as he doesn't know whether she remembers it or not.
" The royals are coming tomorrow." He spoke and she hummed.
" We are supposed to welcome them. Together." Karthik said placing his hands on either side of her body on the window. Diya unaware of this swiftly turned back to leave only to come face-to-face with him. The hazel eyes that she had been trying to avoid for ages were looking into her doll eyes. She gulped in nervousness and placed her hand on his which was on the sill of the window.

" Wh...hat?" She stuttered and a soft smile found on his lips seeing his Angel who stuttered looking at him.
" I'm sorry. I want to be gentler to you but I don't know how. I always keep messing up everything. Let me start again in a softer way D. Please baby." Karthik requested joining his forehead to hers.
" Don't be sorry Ridhaan. You broke me enough that even the thought of reconciliation with you scares me. I'm sorry but I'll leave you soon." Her voice came out so soft ending with a smile. His middle by her scared him but her last phrase totally broke him to the core.
" Di...Diya... I'm so sorry. Please.... do...don't leave me love. I can't live without you. Please listen to me once. Trust me, you won't leave me. I have a very big reason." Karthik requested holding her hand not ready to accept the decision she took.
" My life was so simple until 3 years back Ridhaan. I want to get out of this mayhem," she spoke softly gently pulling her hands from his grip.
" No. You are lying. You love me. You'll never leave me. You are just joking to.... to..." He stopped in the middle as the realisation slowly started sinking into his brain. The tears pooled in his eyes and once his lids felt heavy, his tears broke the barrier making their way out and gliding on his cheeks.
" There is no reason to lie Ridhaan." Diya uttered in her delicate voice. Leaving him is one such decision where she suppressed her mind, heart and every freaking thing that was against her decision.
" Don't you fucking dare call me Ridhaan Diya. I'm Karthik, only KARTHIK for you." He screamed at the top of his lungs which didn't even scare her a bit.
