(Y/N) pov

As we walked away from the now destroyed Hometree I saw Grace's unconscious avatar in a stretcher ahead of us. I was relieved slightly that she was saved as I liked her, she had saved my and Neytiri all those years ago.

I glanced over at my sister, tears silently streaming down her face. We caught up with other mother as she was happy that we had both survived.

"Where's your father?" she asked before noticing the bow strapped to my back, "no, he can't be." She wailed.

I knew father's death would crush her but seeing her reaction in front of me almost broke me. Me and Neytiri helped her to her feet as we made our way to the place that we knew was safe, the Tree of Souls.

It had been a couple days since the fall of Hometree but also, the betrayal of Jake. The reveal of his intention still stung but for some reason, not knowing his fate hurt more.

Grace hadn't woken up yet, so I assumed that he hadn't either. I was worried that his human body could be in trouble or that his avatar body had been eaten by the animals of the forest.

I didn't know why I was so worried about him. He had betrayed the People and was the reason that Hometree was destroyed.

I sat atop a rock, gazing out into the dazzling sunset as the sun fell below the horizon. I heard subtle footsteps behind me, as I glanced behind me and saw Neytiri.

"How your leg?" She questioned, sitting down next to me.

"It's better now, thanks to you and mother." I said quietly, various thoughts still racing through my mind.

"What's on your mind?" She asked.

"A lot," I replied, "father entrusted me with his bow, my new mate betrayed us and our home has been destroyed. And to make it all worse, I think I might still love him."

Tears pooled in my eyes and began to fall down my face.

"Oh, come here." She said embracing me as I sobbed into her shoulder.

The orange hues there were painted across the sky slowly faded, causing the forest around us in a soft glow from the bioluminescent flora the covered the floor. We sat next to each other staring out into the vast landscape in front of us.

"You should get some sleep." Neytiri said, slowly standing up.

"Ok." I responded, feeling a mix of emptiness and relief. I walked over to where we were temporarily sleeping and closed my eyes, letting myself drift off.

I woke up the following day and saw Neytiri waiting for me.

"What is it?" I asked.

"I wondered if you wanted to go hunting with me today, like we used to." She said. I smile crept across my face as a wave of nostalgia hit me, my head filled with pleasant memory of years past.

"I would love to." I said as I grabbed my father bow and ran off into the forest with her.

We crept through the bushes of the forest floor, stalking a hexapede. I pulled an arrow from my quiver and mounted it on 'my' bow. I pulled back the string and let the arrow go. It hit the animals neck, causing it to fall over.

Neytiri bent down next to it, said the prayer to Eywa and stabbed it in the neck, ending it's suffering. I sat down next to her and smiled, this was the first time I'd felt truly happy since that night with Jake. It felt great.

We went back to the tree with our kill and went over to our mother, who was conducting a prayer, and Tsu'tey, the new Olo'eyktan, as we heard a flap in the air.

As we faced it, we saw a Toruk, fear once again filled my soul. Then, it peacefully landed on a nearby rock as a na'vi climbing off of it.

It was him.
