(Y/N) pov

My eyes slowly fluttered open as I heard a load mechanical whirring behind me. Jake was still asleep and as I turned around my heart dropped. One of the sky peoples machines was knocking down trees and was moving towards us.

"Jake, wake up." I said, shaking him. There was no response from him.

"Jake!" I said louder, still nothing.

As the machine got closer, I grabbed Jake and tried to pull him away from them, still calling his name. Slowly, his eyes pushed themselves open and he looked at me, dazed.

"Jake, come on get up, we have to go." I beckoned to him.

He quickly became aware and heard the vehicle that were still inching closer, he stood up and began waving his arm.

"STOP!" he yelled, trying to get it's attention. It seemed to stop briefly but kept moving forward. He suddenly bolted forward, clambering up onto the machine with a stone in hand before smashing part of it.

"Jake!" I shouted to him, as the sky people shot at him.

"Y/N!" he shouted back, jumping down and grabbing me. Bullet flew past us as we ran through the trees. One of the tree of voices fell down next to us, cutting my leg.

"Ah." I exclaimed, almost falling over in pain. Jake placed his arm around me and held me up.

"I've got you, Y/N." he muttered as we ran through the trees.

We collapsed behind a tree as the bullet fire ceased. I looked around it's trunk to see the destruction left in the wake of the colossal machines. All of the trees had been destroyed, I felt tears form in the corners of my ear.

"They - they're all gone." I said to Jake, tears now pouring down my face. "Sylwanin, she's gone. I can't talk to her anymore." I looked at him in complete shock.

"It's ok." he said, comforting me. "I'm here."

I buried my face in his chest as I sobbed, only stopping briefly to catch my breath. Jake looked down at my leg and winced.

"Let's patch you up though, yeah?" he asked. I gave an effortless nod as I continued to stare down at the floor. "Hey, look at me Y/N." he begging, placing his hand on my chin and lifting my head up. "We'll get through this ok?"

"O-Ok." I replied, still crushed by the loss of the trees.

"Tsu'tey will lead the war party!" I hear my father shout before Grace yells something in protest. As we got close, Jake placed a hand on my shoulder and pulled me to face him.

"Ok, listen." I said to me in a low voice. "There's something I have to tell you. It's gonna be hard. I just need to-"

"You!" Tsu'tey yells marching over to us, angry written across his face. "You mated with him?"

My mother and father gather around us, father was glaring at me. "Is this true?" Mother questioned me.

"We are mated before Eywa." I announced. "It is done." I earned furious glances from my father and a sigh of disbelief from my mother.

"You see!" Tsu'tey shouted. "You see the delusions that this dreamwalker has put in his head!"

"Stop!" I yelled at him. "I chose this myself, nothing was put in my head!"

Suddenly Tsu'tey lunged at Jake with his dagger, attempting to stab him, but Jake moved on the way in time before my father jumped in to stop him.

"This is not a proper challenge." he announced.

"Ok then," Tsu'tey said. "I challenge you."

I looked at Jake, hoping he'd say no but instead, he accepted it. My heart dropped, knowing that Jake could die made me scared, but I knew he'd probably be ok.

But before the challenge could start, Jake suddenly collapsed as did Grace a few moments later. Tsu'tey jumped at the opportunity and jumped over Jake, grabbed his hair and held a knife to his throat.

"This is a demon in a false body." he commanded. "It should not live."

Without thinking, I shoved Tsu'tey off of him and pulled out my knife, hissing at him.

Jake POV

"You let me down son." Quaritch said. "You got yourself a local guy and completely forgot which team you play for."

Grace stepped forward. "Parker, listen, there may still be time to-"

"Shut your piehole." Quaritch barked.

"Or what Ranger Rick?" Grace asked. "You gonna shoot me?"

"Looks like your negotiation have failed." Selfridge said to us. "So you've got one hour, then we're doing it our way, got it?"

I nod as the other stare in disbelief. We rush into the link room and get ready.

"I hope this works, for their sake." Grace says, worried.
