Hello my lovely readers! How are we doing today? :)
So, before I publish my new chapter of this story, I wanted to take some time out to tell you all some stuff.
Obviously this is about the current narrative of the story & your reaction to chapter 25, 'The Last Straw' & my forward note on chapter 26, 'Take 2'..
I see most of you took my note as a precursor to discontinuing this story, but let me assure you, that was never there in my mind to begin with.
I respect all my readers for investing their time & emotion to this story so I embrace all the love and even the occasional criticism with open arms. I will never pull the plugs on the story & I promise you all, I will see this story right to the end, like I always do with all my stories, okay?
What I meant by deciding the future of the story is, if people are finding the track too cruel/ harsh & thereby jumping the guns of anger, dissatisfaction & frustration, in that case, I'd take a break, finish the story and publish at one go. That way I'd get less traction to my story, but that's not more important than keeping my readers satisfied!
Alternatively, I was also thinking of a Twitter marathon where you could ask me all your questions in one hour & I'd reply to as many as I can.
My idea was always to make you folks warm up to the story in places where there is discomfort, it was never of abandoning & changing plot. So I hope you're rest assured now? :)
Now about the deeper theme of this story. I have always believed in contrast to popular belief, this is actually a Nandini centric story!
Even though Manik is a dark, convoluted character with many vices & at times may seem undeserving of love, this story explores the possibilities of 'what if' to understand if he deserves love if he evolves by learning from his mistakes. This has been the highlight of the story so far but now the winds are turning towards what I feel is the actual narrative of this story, my core subject, Nandini Murthy.
This story is about her unbecoming & rising from the scratch all over again. It is her journey of acceptance to defiance, from resting to rising, from being seeked to seeking...eventually it's a journey of a woman to a warrior!
I promise you that whatever I have in store for you hereon isn't for the weak hearts & it will give you a whiplash, but I will also promise you it'll be a worthy read!
Lastly Manik as a character had to be ghastly. I'm not justifying his stand, I'm testifying for the character I wrote. For a love so deep as Nandini's nothing less would break her & compel her to be the version of herself you will see now, so Manik had to do what he did.
Now, I think I have been able to give you a little inside-out view of the story? If so, then buckle up ladies & gentlemen. I shall see you on Sunday 19th March at 11am IST !
Love always,
Your writer,
A.
