Nandini had a small smile plastered on her face as she was walking back to their hotel, with Manik and her hands entwined. There was a pep in her steps, she was happy. As in, she knew she was wearing her tummy belt & that made her pregnant before the world, and that made it mandatory for Manik to portray his ideal partner image, lest they be sneakily papped; maybe that's why he was holding her close, but it kinda felt nice in a realish way. She couldn't place her finger on what changed, but was there a little soft corner Manik had finally developed towards her? Was she successful in chipping the wall a bit? But, Alia? Who knew what Manik was really thinking? However, if there was one thing she had learned after losing Abhimanyu, it was this; she had to live in the moment, the future was too volatile to depend on; and in this moment, it felt like she and Manik were creating a magical memory!

"You seem to be in a jolly good mood! I guess you and junior Malhotra enjoyed tonight?" Manik asked, in a goofy voice, and Nandini turned to look at him with dreamy eyes.

"It was one magical night, Manik. Thank you." she whispered. Manik smiled at her and nodded indulgently before he pulled her more into him and continued to walk.

As they entered their hotel, the manager immediately interrupted them; judging by the grim look on his face, Nandini could tell something was not right. Of course, how could she have lived one moment in peace without something disrupting her in the next? Manik & Nandini silently followed him to his office.

"Sir, your team has been trying to reach you for a couple of hours now. Your phone seems to be unreachable. They contacted my office too, since it was urgent, but we had to tell them you've stepped out." The manager informed, curtly.

"Yes, I dropped my private phone, it broke. Who was calling for me?" Manik asked, with a calm voice.

"Sir, your manager Mr. Dhawan. He requested me to inform you that you call him immediately."

"Cabir, but he has your number too.." Manik muttered, frowning as he turned to Nandini.

"Yeah, but I'm not carrying my phone either, we left so spontaneously that.." Nandini replied, remembering how she left it for charging in her bedroom, when they were talking. Manik nodded in understanding and requested for the manager to connect him to Cabir, which he did immediately.

"Hello?" Manik spoke, once Cabir received the phone.

"Manik, oh thank God. Where the hell were you guys!?" Cabir almost screamed in apprehension.

"We're fine Cabir, what's wrong?" Manik asked, immediately, sensing worry in his voice.

"Not here. This is not a secured line. Go to your suite and call from your number." he replied, immediately.

"Err..Cabir my phone broke..you will need to arrange for another private.." Manik began, but Cabir crossed him.

"Shit. Damn it. Fine, I will arrange for one, but for now can you call from Nandini's phone? That's secure too."

"Of course. Give me two." Manik replied, before hanging up the call, thanking the manager & hurrying to their suite with Nandini on his toes.

"Careful, don't run!" he instructed Nandini, glancing at her belly. Nandini was astounded to see, he remembered the charade even amongst what seemed like a serious situation. She nodded and slowed down.
