Ruth's phone rang. Who could it be? She looked at it and it was Ivan. She answered the phone.
"Hello?"
"Hey Ruth. Wanna come with me, Maurin, and Jasper to the diner?" He asked. He sounded a little sad.
"Yeah of course. Is everything okay?" Ruth asked. He stayed silent for a moment.
"Yes everything is alright." He said. Ruth didn't question further. She was still worried though, like her guy was telling her he's in trouble. But she ignored it. Ruth just went back to her house and got dressed.
Her sister was in the room Ruth gave her. She greeted her with a smile.
"Hey Ruth, how are you?" Roxie asked her.
"I'm good, just about to get ready for dinner" Ruth said as she went in her sisters walk-in closet.
"And you're taking my clothes?" Roxie asked.
"Yeah, I don't have anything nice to wear and since you're my older sister I'm only doing my job as a sister" Ruth smiled. Roxanne laughed and went to the door to the closet.
"What about that red dress? Red looks nice on you" Roxie suggested.
"Hmm.. no I wear red too often, I'm looking for something casual" Ruth took a step back to look at the clothes. Then her face brightened up when she saw what she wanted.
"I'll take these" she said. It was a while button-up with dark green pants. Ruth thought it was nice enough and she doesn't wear many colors so she thought it would be a nice change.
"Okay, what shoes are you gonna wear?" Roxie asked. Ruth thought about it. Then remembered the Mary Janes that she never wore.
"I know what shoes I'm gonna wear" Ruth said and thanked Roxie for the clothes. She went to the bathroom to get dressed. Ruth took off the dress she wore to the casino and changed.
"This looks fine" she mumbled to herself. She then left the bathroom to grab the Mary Janes and left to the car. She drove to the diner, which wasn't far.
When she got there she instantly saw Ivan, Maurin, and Jasper sitting in a booth drinking milkshakes. Ivan noticed Ruth and waved at her and called her name.
"Ruth!" He smiled. She waved back and walked to them and she sat next to Maurin.
"Hey" Maurin Said. Ruth smiled.
"Hey stranger"
"Stranger? Ouch" he teased. Ruth laughed. They ordered food and talked for a while.
"It's nice having you guys here together" Jasper said. Ivan agreed. "We should do this more often" he added.
The food came and everyone ate their food. Afterwards they stayed talking till we realized it was almost twelve in the morning.
"We should get going, we've been here for about two and a half hours" Maurin said.
"Yeah let's go" Ruth got up and the rest followed. They continued talking on the way to the car. Ruth and Maurin have been making up scenarios and Ivan and Jasper followed along.
"Do you have a ride babe?" Ivan asked Jasper.
"Yes I do" Jasper gave Ivan a kiss and said his goodbyes.
"What about you Ruth?" Maurin asked.
"Yeah I do" she said.
"Okay" Maurin did his first daring thing and also gave Ruth a kiss. She was surprised but didn't react. She just went with it. When they separated Maurin gave her a smile and Ruth exchanged it.
