Na'vi language will be in bold.
'✈️' = time skipA group of Na'vi dragged Miles and I by our braids, bringing us to a location we didn't know of. I step on a twig, stumbling over it and bringing myself to a stop. They yanked me by my hair, "Walk!" I created a hissing noise, with their pulling giving me a headache.
"Watch it!" Quaritch warns, obviously getting agitated with how they've been treating us, but mainly me. "It's okay, it's fine. I'm okay." I groan out, my injured thigh throbbing in pain from all the walking we've been doing.
We soon made it to an area where hollering was heard from each direction. "We caught two mated demons!" I shot the leader a look with widened eyes. "We are no mates!" But in response to my attitude, I was tugged for ignorance. Before Quaritch could uselessly yell at the men again, we were pulled into a crowd of loud omatikaya people.
"Look what we've got ourselves here!" A younger teenaged boy comes trotting over to me, looking me up and down. "Scatter, boy!" The leader of the men shoos off the people surrounding us. Many 'cooing' sounds came from their mouths, some of them approaching Miles and I by touching our hair and poking at our skin.
"What is everybody saying, Y/n?" The colonel whispers in my ear. A flutter in my stomach suddenly bubbled up unexpectedly. "Let me handle this." I told him. I wondered why he wasn't screaming at me for getting us in this mess. I mean it was my fault after all.
A tall blue man walked to us, but the sun blocked his face so I couldn't see him at first. As he got closer, I felt my heart sink. "What do you go by?" The man wondered, but I was frozen. This man. I knew him. I knew exactly who he was.
•Quaritch's POV•
Y/n wasn't responding to this guy. When I looked over to her, it was like she saw a ghost. Her and I were too far apart for me to snap her back to reality, so I spoke for her. "My name is Miles, this is Y/n." My tone was stern but cautious. "Y/n, huh? Are you both from the sky people?" He asks further. "I am, she is one of you." I quietly admit, a bunch of the blue people getting louder with my remark.I looked around in panic, not exactly knowing what was going on. "Everyone, calm yourselves." The old man settles everybody down, getting them quiet. "Y/n, who is your mother?" The guy points at her. I exchange a worried look with her before she answered, "Grace." She pauses, then continuing shortly after. "Augustine."
She sounded off. She sounded different. Something was off, but what?
The old hag's eyes looked like they bulged out of his sockets right then and there. "You're Awtat'itan's?" He tilts his head her way. "Yes. How do you know my father?" She asks astonishingly. "He's my brother. You look just like him." He let's his hand out, signaling all of the people to fall back.
"How do you know this man." He stares at me. "He is-" She stops, getting interrupted. "That's her mate!" A boy in the back chortles, but before we could say anything in reply, the man in front of us spoke up. "Oh really? Well the people and I welcome you to our home. Your father will be shocked to see you." He announces, welcoming us in. But
Y/n and I both knew we couldn't stay for long."My father is dead." She fakely smiles, but only got a sigh from the blue man before us. "Oh my. You really haven't seen him since war, have you?" He places his palm in the center of his ginormous forehead, and Y/n's smile disappears in an instant. "What are you talking about? My father is dead." She convinced herself once more.
Right as she said so, another tall man walked into the frame, catching our attention immediately when he made his completely visible entrance. I kept my eyes glued onto Y/n as I began to see tears well up slowly in her eyes. I starting switching back and forth between the two in front of me, guessing this man was her father.
"Y/n?" The Awtat'itan man says her name in question. "Father?"
•Y/n's POV•
My eyes were stinging with tears, the clear liquid deciding to fall from my eyes. They rolled off my cheeks, falling onto the grass below me. "Where were you? I thought you died?" I stutter loudly in disbelief. There was no way this was real, so I tried to laugh it off.Nobody bought the act.
"Y/n. I couldn't be your father any longer," He started, but I already shook my head. I wanted to hear the explanation, but I couldn't. I physically could not deal with anything any longer, but I couldn't manage to get the words out to tell him to stop; so I let it happen and I listened forcefully.
"I had no choice. Your mother's death was too hard on me, I couldn't take care of you during that grief. Please. Forgive me." He brought himself closer, opening his arms up for a hug from me, but I refused. "You left me on my own." I snarl. "I was barely a child! I had to take care of myself on my own!" I pushed him off but he barely even moved.
The tears were uncontrollably coming down. I couldn't stop it. "I'm sorry!" He apologizes again, but as he did, a couple of children dashed over to him, "Dad!" They call out. My heart sunk even deeper. I gave him another look of betrayal, backing away. I wanted to run. I really, really wanted to get out of there. "Y/n-" He tried to explain.
My heart was racing, my chest was rising and falling swiftly, my breathing was picking up, along with the amount of tears I cried. A slim woman with braids tied up in a pony-tail came over, picking the children up. "I'm sorry honey, I tried to catch them." She giggles apologetically. "Fuck you." I swore in English, hoping he knew what it meant. I took off, hearing everyone squeal, jump around and my father's voice echo behind me. "Y/n!"
It was too late. I was going home. I shouldn't even have went exploring in the first place. I would've rather believed he was extinct than realize he had a whole new family, while leaving me on my own in the wild.
I knew someone was following behind, but I didn't want to turn back.
