I stood in front of Y/n, getting ready to either attack or 'bond' with the beast. With my braid in my left hand, my right was empty. No weapons. I knew if I was going to do this, a knife wouldn't do shit.

The flooring of the cavern started to rattle, only meaning it was nearing. I take a quick glance behind me to find Y/n panicking. With my unoccupied hand, I reached out for hers. I kneel down before her, as she had her knees to her face, her arms wrapped around herself. "I mean what I said, okay? You're safe."

My head shot back, noticing that the creature was on the opposite side of the    lake we were surrounded by. The roar of the quetzalcoatlus echoed through the cave, sending sound waves that we could feel from it. I separated from
Y/n, taking responsibility of the situation;  but when the creature appeared face to face, only meters away, my confidence dropped.

"Y/n, we're gonna have to run." I let her know, picking her up from where she was sitting, but she seemed frozen, she was struggling to breathe. It looked like she wanted to cry, but no tears left her eyes. "Did you hear me?" I wondered again. She still didn't answer, so I yanked on her hand, trying to avoid the animal.

I dragged her around different rocks and crystal objects. We crossed a small bridge, thinking we found a way to escape, but I was incorrect. The quetzalcoatlus followed us the entire way, now realizing it was a dead end.

My heart dropped and I could tell Y/n's did too. "Shit." I whisper under my breath, getting Y/n worried a little. "It's fine, it's fine. Y/n we're gonna be fine." I then attempt to promise.

I took notice of how large the beast was. It's eyesight must not have been amazing due to the fact it kept bumping into objects and boulders. Realizing that made me think of a strategy. If we stay low and if we stay quiet, then maybe we could make it past, so I simply told Y/n to do so.

"Get down and stay down." I ordered, hiding behind a boulder with her. "Don't make a sound." I had to add before the loud grumble of the beast come closer and closer. I held my breath, counting the amount of steps the animal took and how far away it may be. I exhaled, but inhaled for a long period of time again.

I felt a hand grab onto my shoulder, so I looked over to see Y/n trying to get something off her arm. She made a small squeal and I shut her mouth with my hand, but she kept pointing to a certain spot. The sound of the quetzalcoatlus' foot steps went completely silent. We knew it knew we were there, but did it know where?

Y/n let me look at her arm, making me confused at first, then seeing a neon colored spider the size of a human hand. I brushed it off of her, telling her to stay quiet now. I didn't exactly trust her though, so I kept my hand over her mouth.

I peek around the boulder, looking at the position and location the quetzalcoatlus was.

The dragon turned its head the opposite way of ours and we stand straight up, back against the stone wall behind us, forcing ourselves to look like we are apart of it. I was behind Y/n, making sure she was safe at all costs. She never left my eyesight.

We slowly scoot our way past the beast, Y/n then blowing our cover when her foot slipped, falling into my side, catching herself. We froze, waiting for the beast to react as it slowly turned its head our way. A low grumble came from it, now sniffing the area to find us. The creature seemed almost blind, it's eyes being so much smaller than a Na'vi's.

"Stay put." I demand in her ear. The dragon whipped it's head around, searching for a movement of ours. The animal paused when it's nose met my face, then hissing loudly. I stayed still, feeling the hot breath of the creature on my skin. But what shocked me, was how the animal stopped what it was doing, kneeling down as a way to say, "Get on." So I quietly get closer, gently placing a hand on its head.

Looking over to Y/n, she looked like she was in awe. The quetzalcoatlus allowed me to get on his back, connecting my braid with his. I felt a rush of adrenaline shoot through my body, waves of different emotions filling from throughout me.

The now tamed animal let Y/n on as well, now exiting the cave. I directed the dragon where I wanted it to go, but Y/n wanted to make one more quick stop before we left.

She returned to the spot her banshee, Apollo had died. She decorated the spot he died with flowers, rocks, crystals and colored fruits. She provided him one last kiss before deciding to leave him to be in peace with Eywa.
