Follow Spartan S-142 or Ash, an Experimental Spartan II, as his story starts on Reach. Being transferred to a new squad as Noble Six.

(Hello and welcome to my Halo book, I've created two RVB series so I'd thought I'd finally give Halo a try. Most of you are probably from my RVB books since I'm using Ash. But It won't be our lovable insane guy. So I hope you enjoy this.)
(Also I'm not fully good at Halo lore and other stuff. I've played nearly every game on Legendary, but still, I'm not good with lore and stuff. So I might get stuff wrong.
Inside a hanger we see a Spartan in red armor sitting on a box next to a warthog. As a couple marines load supplies into the warthog the spartan is putting together a DMR he took apart.

This spartan's name is S-142 or Ash-142 a Spartan II, though he's an experimental Spartan.
Dr. Halsey wanted to see if she could create a cheaper version of a Spartan II, without some of the augmentations. She was Mostly successful in her experiment. What she created was Ash. Though without some of his augmentations, he's had to work twice sometimes three times harder to achieve the results she wanted.
Though where he lacks, he makes up for in his great intellect. An expert in weapons and explosives, he's even created some vehicles that have helped the UNSC greatly.
His one great weakness is that he sucks at stealth. He's the definition stealth is optional.
S-142 finishes putting the DMR back together and he loads a magazine into it and aims up at the ceiling and into the scope. He pulls the trigger and hears a click, then he racks the slide back and sets the gun on his lap.
"Ash." A mature female voice calls out from the side.
Said Spartan looks to his right and sees a tall female figure in green armor. The female takes of her helmet and long white hair falls down a pale yellow eyes stare at Ash.

S-141 or Cal-141, Ash's older sister.
"Cal." Ash calls out as he stands up and puts the DRM on his back. Cal reaches Ash and looks down at him.
The height difference is pretty big between the two.
Cal being 7.9 feet (240.79 cm.) and Ash being 6.2 feet (188.9 cm) That was another problem with Ash, he didn't get the Spartan II height.
