It is a night sky: several bright pinpoints of white light, stars, hang in the center. It's a tranquil forest, with lush forestry and a winding river. Then Xi's voice is heard.

"They let me pick, just like Cortana. Did I tell you that. Choose whatever Spartan I wanted. I did my research, I looked through the files, even the ones I wasn't supposed to. Then I found you."

Something moves through the atmosphere, trailing flames splitting the night sky. It's the Prophet of Truth's Dreadnought.

"You were different from everyone else. You didn't have all the Spartan II's augmentations, yet, you fought just as hard if not harder."

The fireball comes ever nearer.

"I saw something many didn't. It's what drew me to you."

Two, lesser fireballs, break off from the main one. They go in different directions.

"It made me look up to you. Do you know what it is?"

The second fireball curves towards the ground.

"You were a survivor, a fighter. No matter what was put in front of you, you found a way to complete your mission."

The fireball smashes into the ground with an earth-shattering impact.

"You survived Reach, the first ring and the second. Now... you must finish the fight."

Hours later

Sunlight screams through the trees onto the smoking ruin where the object hit the ground. In the foreground, an armored gauntlet is visible. In the background, several Marines move around; Second Squad, along with four ODSTs.

One with primary red color and a black secondary. Another with black primary and red secondary. Then there's one with Black primary and pale blue secondary. Then the last is black primary with blue secondary.

The two blues hold up the back and their weapons sweep the tree line. The Pale blue ODST is holding two plasma rifles and the blue ODST is holding a Brute shot.

These are Rose Team.

"This doesn't look good." A Marine calls out.

"Damn." A Marine mutters. "That had to be a long fall."

Suddenly an ODST takes of his helmet, that has a hole in the front of it, and it reveals to be Asher, with an eyepatch over his left eye.

Ruby takes off her helmet, showing off the large scar on the right side of her head as she leans against a tree, a hand on her right side of her stomach.

"Two kilometers, easy." A Marine says.

"This doesn't look good First Lieutenant." A Marine states as Asher walks over.

Asher looks down to reveal the object being Ash. He lies at one end of the impact crater. His armor now having several scars.
