Follow Spartan S-142 or Ash, an Experimental Spartan II, as his story starts on Reach. Being transferred to a new squad as Noble Six.

On the roof of a large building in a large military complex we see two children. Both with white hair and golden eyes. One is a female who is older and bigger than a Male. They both are looking up to the starry night sky.
"Cal?" The Male calls out.
"Yes, Ash?" Cal responds.
"Do... Do you think one day, when this is all over. We can get a house and live together on a lake?"
Cal smiles and nods. "Yeah, I like that."
Ash smiles.
...
A plasma mortar lands not too far from Ash, his helmet's been knocked off. He
"Does anyone have visual?" Ash's helmet radio crackles to life.
Groans are heard behind Ash and he looks to see a crashed Hornet, with all of Rose team getting up.
"Their Hornet went down!" A voice yells through the radio.
Ash grunts and gets up while picking up his helmet, and puts it on. Ruby, Asher, Caleb and Caylnn all walk over to Ash, as they cough a limp.
"Did we lose them?" Some asks over the radio.
Ash grabs a nearby battlefield and puts it on his back.
"We got a problem!" Rose points out.
Ash looks up to see several plasma mortar rounds coming down towards them.
"Uh.., What should we do?" Caleb asks.
Caylnn cracks her neck as some blood falls down her face. "We kill them!" She slams her fists together.
Ash pulls out a bubble shield. "No, stay here."
"But-" Ruby tries to argue.
"Then come to me on my signal!"
Ash throws down the bubble shield and runs out of it. The mortar rounds hit the bubble shield. Ash continues to run as mortar rounds land around him.
He then reaches a cliff and sees several Wraiths and Brutes below. Ash yells as he jumps off and pulls back his metal left first.
