"What are you doing here?!" I asked in a loud voice.
"Chill," she said, as if she lived here "I just wanted to make sure you didn't have that snack"
"What? Why?" I asked, very confused.
"You said you wanted my help, and you said that you'd trust me" she said.
Well, I did say that...
"But Ana," I complained "I'm really hungry"
"You had lunch today, didn't you?"
"I did... That's when I met you"
"Okay, so wait until dinner" she said. I didn't want to wait until dinner, I always felt hungry when I got home from school. I wanted to eat.
"But Ana..." I started.
"Stop complaining," she said "you'll eat later"
"Only because I promised I'd trust you" I said, but I sensed something was wrong with this.
"Good girl" she said with a smile. "I'll see you later. And remember, friends don't lie to each other"
"Okay" I said as she left.
That girl scared the crap out of me. How'd she get in? My mom wasn't home, and she couldn't have stolen my keys. I decided I'd ask her the next day.
I went back up to take a nap. When I woke up it was 7:14 pm. I had homework, so it was about time I got started. But I wouldn't. I never did.
My mom was already home so she asked what I wanted for dinner, but I didn't want anything. I wasn't hungry, even though I was before.
At 7:30 sharp, Brendon called me. We talked and laughed and listened to music, as usual. When we were running out of things to talk about, I decided to bring something up.
"So this girl is creeping me out" I said.
"Who?" He asked.
"The girl I was talking to during lunch" I replied. There was no way he didn't see her, she was right there.
"Oh, her" he said, but there was something in his voice...
"You still think you didn't see her, don't you" I sighed.
"Marianne, I swear no one was there. I'm serious, you were talking to nobody, I was looking at you before I got there" he said.
No. That's not true.
"Anyway, she was in my kitchen today" I said, making it sound like it wasn't a big deal.
"What the fuck" he said, his voice flat.
"I know, it was creepy. I don't know how she got in" I said, calmly.
"You should tell somebody" he sounded alarmed now.
"Nah, she wasn't stealing or anything" I wasn't going to tell anyone.
"But she broke in," he argued "and you don't even know how"
"I'll think about it, but I'm going to talk to her first" I said, just so he would leave it alone.
"Okay" he said, knowing I didn't want to talk about it anymore.
We kept talking for about two hours. I helped him with his assignments and then we just talked.
It was 10:43, so I decided I should get ready for bed. I washed my face, brushed my teeth, put on my pajamas and went to bed.
When I was about to fall asleep, I heard my door open. My mom probably needed something from my room.
"Hey Marianne"
It wasn't my mom.
"I just wanted to congratulate you, for skipping dinner"
