"If I let her think, I liked her.. maybe she'll turn against Jake." I heard as I walked past the room I made my video diaries.

I stopped walking and turned back. Naili's tail was laid down on the floor, her ears laid back. Oh no.. she listened a bit more but then rewind and repeated what I said.

"If i let her think, I liked her.. maybe she'll turn against Jake." I stepped inside the room, Naili's ears moving a little. She heard me.

"Can I explain?" I asked with a shaking voice. Naili nodded without looking at me. I sighed quietly and walked up to her.

"I have two video diaries.. One is for Quaritch and Ardmore.. I knew they'll control the videos and if I talked about you in all of them.. they would've killed me." I said. Naili turned to me, stood up. She was so tall, I was guessing at 8 '58 feet at least. Though, she crouched back down, and was at my height now.

"Show me then." She whispered, her skin was a little puffy, as if she had been crying. She tilted her head and waited. With a nod, I quickly turned to the laptop and opened a locked tab.

"Those videos are mostly for me only.. I cry in those or have breakdowns.. or talk about you.. please.. Please, don't judge." I asked without looking at the Na'vi girl. She turned back to the camera.

I was so relieved that she let me explain before being angry.

"I'm so tired.. it has been days, I didn't sleep at all -" Naili skipped ahead.

"I think.. I think I'm in love.. and I know that I shouldn't. I know I shouldn't because if I do.. Quaritch and Ardmore are going to kill me or her.. but.. I think I'm in love." I was standing behind Naili, hearing my own voice, seeing myself before me. I remembered this day. I made that video maybe four days from today. Naili kept listening.

"Naili.. has brought so much happiness and life into my life.. she changed me but more like that I learned from her... - I disobeyed direct orders.. I knew I would be exactly like Trudy. She has told me before that sometimes orders can be something you can't do and then you'll have to hide and seek help from strangers. At first.. I thought it would be easy to leave Naili behind me.. now? Now I can't imagine a life without her.. even if she's locked up at the moment.. Dr. Clark is making us communicate with each other. I'm able to.. reach out for her all the time, I just didn't because it will be risky.. cameras are everywhere and I didn't want to risk her or my life, because-"

Naili turned it off, then she looked at me. I waited for a reaction from her, only seeing the tears growing in her eyes and the shaking lips.

"You weren't lost.. that day, were you?" She asked. I sighed.. I guess it was time to explain everything to her.

"I was. After the first time I fell asleep, I woke up here again, Quaritch wanted all the information I could give him.. but I only told him I was safe and not injured, a Na'vi girl had helped and that Jake was there too." I started, Naili turned away and hissed beneath her breath.

"I realized, I've said too much but he told me to kill you. I couldn't. I couldn't kill you. I don't think I could kill anyone.." I whispered. Naili took my small hands into her big ones. We locked eyes.. and she moved her finger from my palm up to the tip of my middle finger.

"I am not angry.." She whispered, I smiled sadly and mumbled a small 'thank you'.

Naili and I decided then that we should go back, when I heard Ardmore calling for me. Naili stayed behind the door into the big boss room while I walked in.

"Dr. Chacon." She welcomed me, I nodded and stepped forward. I was so in trouble.

"Where is the Na'vi girl?" She asked, I looked down, not wanting to answer her. I had to keep her safe.
