Panic.
I started panicking. Gasping for air, I sat up. Hands were holding me. Blue hands. Blue hands?! I squealed and tried to push the blue hands away but it didn't work.
"Hey! Hey! Calli! It's okay!" I heard. My eyes finally got used to the bright light. With a heavy breath I looked around, still in panic. Then I saw a woman. A blue woman. An Avatar.
"Z-dog?" I asked and gasped for air again. She nodded with a smirk. Some people were cheering.
"She's awake!" I heard but I ignored it.
"You're blue?" I asked and turned my head left and right. Then I looked at my own hands. I AM BLUE!
"I'm blue! I'm blue!" I called and jumped up. Something was attached behind me. I circled around and saw a tail. I grabbed it, my jaw dropped with a big smile.
"I'm an Avatar!" I cheered, then I walked out of the room. The doctors and Z-dog tried to stop me but I just left. I grabbed some clothes and changed while walking around.
"This is amazing!" I said, tripping over and over again. I laughed, feeling adrenaline shooting through my body. Looking around for a mirror, I found one in the bathroom. With a big smile I admired myself. The patterns on my skin and my pointed ears, I admired my tail and the braided hair.
Z-dog walked up to me. Her arms crossed she leaned against the door and smiled.
"Do you have some hair ties?" I asked and smiled at her. She nodded and gave me two hair ties. I grabbed them quickly and put some hair strands into two buns, the other part of my hair, I let fall over my shoulders.
"Looking good." My colleague said and smiled. I smiled back and mumbled a small thank you, then I turned to her and we went to the meeting hall.
Quaritch was walking around, talking. They will go into the forest in a few hours, in that time we can get used to our bodies. Though, the others have been in the Avatars for a few days if I wasn't wrong while I only got it now.
I was now at the lab station of the base and one of the scientists explained to me why the video diaries are important.
"Well, it is better if you do your diary in human form, so go unplug." One said, I'm terrible with names.. I nodded, heading to the bedrooms for the Avatars. I laid down and woke up in the link bed and sat up.
"Dr. Chacon, you're back." A woman said, I also forgot her name. I smiled and looked around. It's been a while since I was awake in my human body.
For some reason I don't know, they didn't wake me up in the spaceship but decided to link me with my Avatar first and then I should wake up.
"Welcome." I smiled again at the greeting from the scientists and made my way to the computer and the camera for my diary.
"Oh? Are we doing that again?" Z-dog asked and kneeled down next to me. I nodded and waved into the camera.
"That is Z-dog." I introduced her, she smirked and left again. I was now alone.
"Well, time has come. I arrived here only a few hours ago, the Avatar feels great. I feel great! For now I don't have to say much but we will go into the forest soon, for the first time. I'm excited!" I said. It didn't feel weird to talk into a camera, I did it quite often back home.
Trudy, my sister, she always wanted updates from me and how my school was going though we never could talk, I just had to send her videos. She probably had thousands of videos of me, racing around my apartment going crazy because I couldn't remember where I placed my coffee. Or what day it was because I haven't slept for days. She had everything on tape.
I headed back to the link beds because Z-dog had called and said that we were leaving soon. I opened my eyes in the Avatar and jumped up right away.
As we sat in the aircraft, the others were talking with each other, Quaritch approached me.
"Let's hope you will be better than your sister! She was a very loyal soldier at first." He said and nodded at me. I smiled back awkwardly.
"Yea, I know!" I just said. Quaritch laughed a bit. Then he and Z-dog looked out of the flying aircraft.
We landed.
"Alright! Be careful!" Quaritch warned. I nodded, holding my gun close to me. I looked around, the nature was outstanding. Everything was basically glowing and it wasn't like I've never seen this before but in real life the Na'vi forest was even more beautiful.
Taking literally one step, the ground vanished from my feet and I fell.
Screaming and screaming, I tried to hold myself on something that was in my way but instead I fell from one big leaf to the next one. I hit the ground very harshly.
With grunts, I stood up and looked above me and I could not see from where I fell down. Oh great. One day in and I'm already dead. I reached for my neck microphone.
"Hello?" I asked.
"Are you okay?" Lyle asked, I flinched together of how loud he was.
"I didn't die.. so I guess." I answered and started walking. Pushing leaves and bushes out of my way, I noticed too late that the connection to the others left.
"Hello?! Hello!!" I tried but nobody answered, I tripped but before falling I caught myself and walked through some bushes.
The moment I looked up, a Na'vi girl stood in front of me. Her hand protectively in front of her with a big ass dagger and a sharp stick.
Oh great..
