Evie paced her apartment, wishing she had someone she could talk to this about. She knew the moment she spoke with Fury, he would begin making up excuses and lies, wondering how she found out all this information. Before coming up with something entirely different.
This was making her wonder if she could even trust Fury.
Did he only employ her into Shield, because he thought she too had abilities like her brother?
She didn't have any powers!
Evie shook her head, demanding for herself to wake up now. That she knew, this was all some kind of horrible dream, and she was actually lying beside Bucky in bed.
After standing there for ten minutes, demanding for herself to wake, she realised.
This was no dream.
This was real.
Evie reached up and began playing with the pendant that her brother gave her, trying to remember the day he gave her it, but no matter what she thought, she couldnt remember it. She knew and was sure it was the day he left to be in the army.
Did he go to the army?
Her memories were now betraying her.
Causing her to lash out in frustration.
She quickly picked up the letter from him again, reading it over one last time.
Be careful on who you trust Evie, not everyone is on your side. No matter what they tell you.
She had to get out of this building, now questioning on who she could trust in there. She quickly put everything down, then grabbed her key card and motorbike keys, and left the apartment.
After driving around for almost three hours, knowing nobody would miss her at the Stark building, since they were all out on missions anyway. She finally headed over to Long Island and over to The Hamptons beach, where she parked the bike and stood there looking over the sand.
She liked the beach, it had been somewhere her family would come every year for spring vacation. This was the place they always came. And she hadnt been there for many years.
It wasnt the season for it the now, and it was quiet.
The odd dog walker out, a few people sitting around on the sand, topping up the tan. Nobody was in the water though, no swimmers, no surfers.
"Beautiful day. Isnt it?"
It was like the wind had been knocked out of her.
Evie quickly stepped back from the person who had stepped up beside her, gasping and looking around at him. She was shaking from head to toe, as he slowly removed his sunglasses and looked back at her.
"Do you remember the time, I tried to teach you how to surf?"
She couldnt speak, she couldnt reply, and she couldnt move.
Wondering what kind of nightmare this was.
There, right in front of her, was her brother.
Alive.
"I know, right. It was cruel of me to let go the board, but you managed to do it" He chuckled.
"Who are you?" Evie managed to say.
His shoulders sagged and he looked back at her sadly.
"You dont recognise me?" Bobby sighed. "Its me. Bobby"
"Cant be. You died" Evie shook her head.
"Yeah, about that "
"I buried you. And you cant be here. I dont know who you think you are, but if you dont leave me alone. I will scream"
