Bucky had been keeping himself busy, trying not to be around the team as much. As they had been asking questions, knowing that he was feeling the loss of Evie more than they were. Steve had asked a few times, how he was coping. Bucky knew he was concerned, but also he had twigged to his relationship with her.
He would brush off his questions, saying he was fine.
But even he was beginning to feel like they were walking on eggshells around him.
That morning, there wasn't much to do for now. So he was spending more time up in the training rooms, fighting with whoever was in there, or practicing with his gun. Even heading to the gym and just lifting weights.
He had been lifting the weights for over two hours, feeling like it wasn't taking away the thoughts of Evie this time. He had been thinking more and more of her for the last two days.
Almost like something was pulling him to her.
Where that was, he didn't know. And he couldnt explain what it was.
It was just a pull.
As he walked towards the kitchen, he found Steve and Tony talking and looking at something on a tablet they were holding.
He never asked what they were discussing.
Figuring that if it concerned him, he would be called into the conversation.
Bucky headed to the fridge, picking up a bottle of water. About to head for the elevator.
"Hey, Buck. Look at this" Steve said, calling him over.
Slowly he walked around and to where they were standing. He looked at the screen, seeing a small red circle covering something on a map.
"What am I looking at?" Bucky wondered, opening the bottle.
"This was just a few hours ago. Its an anomaly" Tony explained.
"Of?" Bucky quizzed.
"We dont know. It has the same signature of a magically enhanced person, but we dont know what or who"
"Are you going to look into it?" Bucky wondered, hoping he wasnt about to be sent in.
"No, not yet. If things get too heated, we might" Steve replied.
Tony glanced at Steve, then at Bucky, before looking away again. Bucky didnt miss it.
"What?" He quickly asked.
Steve sighed, he didnt want to say anything.
"This has the same signature waves, as Wanda's"
"Maybe its her" Bucky replied, before walking away. "I mean, she left to get away from everything, you guys said you dont know her exact location"
And Bucky walked back out of the room.
Tony was about to say something, but Steve shook his head. Letting him leave.
"Why didnt you tell him?" Tony wondered.
"Because we dont know anything for sure. So, maybe we should just leave it. You said it yourself, that came from Xaviers school, maybe its someone up there" Steve then said.
"What if its not. What if this is Evie, and we can bring her back. We both know that Bucky was more involved with her, than hes mentioned" Tony said. "wouldn't you wanna try, and bring her back. Hes miserable since. You know"
"Yeah. I do. But I dont wanna be getting his hopes up, only for them to be shattered. Look, get in contact with Charles, ask him"
Tony walked up to his office, sitting himself down at the desk. He was about to reach for the phone, when he received an email. When he opened this, it was from one of his contacts from a special branch that worked for the government. He had been keeping his ears to the ground, after Walker had turned against them. Because they had heard someone else was pulling the strings.
